At episode 7 now. I can definitely say that the drama continues to have surprises. Every time I watch an episode I think I know what to expect but in reality I'm still often surprised. Anyway, his mission to be mangaka continues.
This dramas characters are literally acting like actions aren't supposed to have consequences. Anyway, likely the most violent jdrama airing right now. Almost over now and I still hate the main characters for everything.
I finally finished this and what a journey it was. I would recommend it if you can handle slower dramas. Every episode has something interesting with a new unique delivery but the general mystery is solved very slowely.
I guess they will delete a lot of scenes like the festival, skiing part, outside dates, etc. According to their interviews, they…
Well it does say 30 minutes on the drama page and that's a fairly standard jdrama episode lenght so I would assume so yes. As for the events. I think they will show outside dates but yes they will leave some stuff out. Like in Cherry Magic they left out the onsen and the helicopter from the manga too. Sometimes it's also just the costs that force them to abandon certain parts of the original.
Can't wait for kdrama producers to find out bisexuality exists. Like he had heartbeats for both the sister and the brother even if there were misunderstandings at play.
This list is absolutely amazing! So detailed and extensive. Thank you so much for the wonderful work maintaining…
Thank you for the compliment ❤️ Of all the genres I'm probably most dedicated to Japanese BL so this list is one of the better upkept ones. Still not perfect but when I find some time I'll update comments.
Since its so short I would say yeah some of the more surprising parts are worth it. But only if you're bored since its not really an easy story to follow and you'll find yourself wandering what you're watching.
The first raws have been released and well based on the statements made in the first episode I did research as I am a BL fan too. I read the Japanese article that the book and subsequently the drama was based on. The original article is called: 乙女の聖典~女子こそ読みたい「刃牙」シリーズ~その1 「刃牙」を9冊読んで頭がおかしくなった女の戦い. After watching the shows first episode I was surprised how much the story resembled the story in the article. Meaning this story is based on an actual persons opinions and findings (Junko Kaneda) likely with some additions for the sake of drama. After reading part of her story I'm ready to go on this journey with her. Baki is far from the BL we're used to so I honestly respect her efforts in trying to prove her theory by pointing to a lot of details like the mangakas way of drawing Baki. And its kinda fun. At the end of the day Baki is obviously not BL but considering she wrote a whole book I'm curious to see her evidence.
It actually kinda reflects a different type of effort of some BL fans as well but in different countries where BL is censored. The way both the fans and producers manage to sneak in/find hints that the two guys do have a relationship is an artform and this woman and her struggles to find details remind me of that a bit.
It was an interesting movie, a bit odd but very reminiscent of the many survival manga Japan has to offer. Seeing the tag ''adapted from manga'' therefore didn't surprise me at all. It does indeed have a lot of gore so be mindful of that before watching it. It's not super logical in every aspect but it works well enough. Great cast too, was fun recognising some of the faces of the actors and actresses.
I must've seen a clip of it somewhere and just commented here based on that.
