These critics are being unfair. They say the drama is too slow, has too many flashbacks, and too many close-ups…
Agreed!!! The title of the show is self-explanatory. If it's not your cup of tea then skip. Simple. For me, this drama is amazing and I'm enjoying every bit of it. Well, except the evil uncle, his cronies and that pretty, but evil consort. Even the Ming chefs-especially the head chef-are interesting. My only complaint is that 12 episodes aren't enough; I daresay, they'll rush some of the sub-plots along since there're only 3 episodes left and we're not yet done with the Ming/Joseon cooking competition at this point.
The eldest young miss is my second favourite cdrama character after the emperor in LLTG. I haven't laughed this hard and long in a while. I love her so much, she's now one of my favourite actresses!!! I officially dislike the body guard for not falling inlove with my girl immediately LOL! Makes me want to hook her up with some other hot guy. I'm continuing the drama, to see her and the 2 brothers. I love their dynamic and I hope they continue to be great brothers and not allow that murderous wench come in between them. This drama has taught me things about myself that I never would've known. For instance, as a romance lover, I never knew the day would come when I would skip every romantic scene between 2 attractive leads. The romance feels fake because I know it's all a lie and it also makes me look down even more on the ml, because he's so naive and really has no business leading himself, not to talk of the clan. That said, the cinematography, is prize-worthy. Every frame is picturesque. The fights, few as they are so far, are really great-especially the snow sabre moves. Ah! Those are awesome moves. I also want to live in the valley, but in the back hall and only if Gong Shengyue is sword wielder. Ok, back to it.
I'm on episode 13. So far none of the main cast is dead, unfortunately. I won't mind if both fls and ml die at this point. Ml is daft; both fls are evil, but other than that the rest is awesome.
Just started this. The ml seems like a side character and the side character seems to be the ml-so strong and…
2ml is so savage, I can't stop laughing. "For a useless man to become sword wielder, will make us a laughing stock in the martial world". Said useless man-ml- was standing right there! ROTFL!!!
Just started this. The ml seems like a side character and the side character seems to be the ml-so strong and quite frankly, very sexy. The ml's not intelligent, very easy to fool, in short, an emotional mess. If he weren't the ml, he would've been very easily killed off-perhaps he will be at the end. However, my favourite character is the elder sister who's always harassing the ml's bodyguard. she's a hoot! I love her. I feel no empathy or affinity with either of the fls and can't care less what will happen to them and the ml. However, the 2 brothers are interesting and I hope elder sister gets her man-if the ml's stupidity doesn't off him-which looks very likely. Ok off to continue.
This drama is really great if you want to watch it for sisterhood. But the thing is I don't like how the problems…
I dropped it because of this as well. If I don't want to watch a drama about misogyny, then I certainly don't want to watch one about misandrists. Take for instance the man with multiple wives. If they hate him so much, why are they still there eating his food and living off of him? Why not leave? Infact, why marry an already married man in the first place only to start badmouthing him and playing all sorts of underhanded tricks? Is victimhood so enjoyable? Are they on a 'higher' moral ground simply because they're women? Feminism doesn't mean hating men, or being rude and unreasonable. I wonder when cdrama writers will get this.
Am I the only one who feels that hua patriarch was fool to debate against emperor? Politics is dangerous field…
No you're not. For such an old man to be so foolish, I wonder how he survived till that age. Yes, he should correct the Emperor, but there're ways to do it without risking his hide and his entire family's lives. The fl inherited her grandpa's recklessness as well. She's lucky this is a drama. Irl, she'll have been dead going toe to toe with the unhinged emperor.
She never had those implants. She already said it she only had double eyelids and nose surgery and she said she…
Ikr? Not just SK, Chinese actresses are subjected to such unreal pressures. There's a bubbly, quirky C actresss, very pretty and original. Unfortunately, I couldn't recognise her when I saw her recently. She looks nothing like herself and I felt so bad for her, that she felt she had to cave in to their ridiculous standards, when she was perfect to begin with.
My third rewatch. Just came here to say that the 9th Dan Archer is a fine for nothing dunce. How can he be so fine and skilled in archery, yet have nothing upstairs? Ok, back to it.
No one is really shipping Qiu Shui with any of the other male leads. As for Tang Feng, her personality was pretty…
Ah! Don't get me started on GOTD fl. Really! It's like the writer thought, here's a fantastic story, let me mess it up with a petulant, unlikeable fl. I just skipped all her scenes, only for the ending to deal the final blow. That said, I agree with you. Few drama writers know how to write a good romance. Either they write a great ml and pair him up with an unbearable fl-which is what they do most times. I'm beginning to think cdrama writers are reverse misogynists. Because they write such atrocious and horrid fls, in the name of writing a strong fl-or vice versa; a great fl with an atrocious ml. I wonder why it's so difficult for them to write a nice romance where both leads are awesome.
