Exactly. Angelababy's acting is no worse than many other actresses but she seems to get so much hate and criticism on her acting. I think she's doing fine here and I like that her character is smart and not easily fooled. Let's hope they keep this up!

The Xi family is so hypocritical. They were the ones who set the trap to kill Xuan Lie and when his son died from his own trap, they are all indignant and wanted revenge. If you don't try to kill Xuan Lie in the first place, none of this would've happened...

I can't remember in which ep she stopped trying to kill him, but after they survived the deadly desert, she gradually changes her attitude towards him but not fully trust him until maybe ep 10 or so. I love the OST as well. Her voice is so soothing.

Probably both since she sees them as hers.

ikr. Also it seems like childhood friends = first love as well. I've seen so many dramas they boast that they were childhood friends as if that was more important than current love interest.

Yikes and someone below complained that the ML is not like the one in the novel and that he was too soft. I don't think anyone would want to watch it if he was the extremely red flag like in the novel.
