The young Dou Zhao is so pretty and a really good actress for her age. I think the young actors are getting to be really good. I was also impressed with the girl in Brocade Odyssey.
Glad you liked it. When it first aired, the comments were brutal. There were so many people slut shaming the FL…
Yeah many were quick to judge and rated it really low in the beginning because of the way she treated the ML. Rating was ever lower while airing around 7.5. But it has increased since then due to the HE which I really like. The FL apologized to the ML for her behaviour and she proposed to him. Haven't seen that in awhile since most romcom, the ML has to do all the heavy lifting but in this one, they both made equal effort for each other.
I just finished Go Back Lover with Li Yun Rui.I loved him in it so looking forward to starting this one once more…

they are banned but they have sneakily been calling the first part of the drama “a dream” to help this pass,…
Oh interesting. Will need to check out the museum when I go to HK. Yeah I'm liking the ingenious ways people are finding in getting around those censorship.

All these politics are so interesting. Generals can't be too strong or else they will become a threat to the Emperor and the Emperor will find ways to destroy their power. They can't be too weak or else, they will have no power. They need to find that perfect balance lol
So if Emperors were originated from military families, shouldn't most of them know how to fight? or just earlier dynasties where the emperor actually lead the war. In later dynasties, emperors usually don't know how to fight and just sit on the throne and have the generals lead the wars.

Ah ok that makes sense. The nobility always have too much power and the Emperor is afraid of being overthrown. The only way for common people to gain a foothold is through the imperial exam, hence we always see in every drama, all the families doing everything possible to get the sons on the list.
I just didn't expect the military to have so much power in the Tang dynasty and basically lawless and the Emperor will turn a blind eye to it as long as it's not a rebellion. So glad that has changed, and with every dynasty, supposedly to change for the better but then there will always be people who prefer the previous dynasty, hence the fight for the crown. I'm learning so much from these historical dramas lol

This is the first I've seen a general blatantly killed so many people and with witnesses around, including imperial officers and not be accountable for it.
How can general Nui have so much power that he can just killed a whole bunch of people in front of everyone and got away with it. He can just disregard all the laws and do whatever he wants? He was even going to kill old Sang and the brocade officer until the Governor arrived and stopped him. He has no accountability??
