:D Thise movies are like an entirely different dimension of Korean cinema. did you watch the Crucible? an important and coirageous film to make. But Pride is also a very nice romantic drama. I really liked the actress who plays the girl. That and the music is classic. Kimutaku rarely fails me too.

Choi Min sik is surely at the top of the top. He's really fantasticv in Old boy. Well it's very gruesome and it may disgust you. You need to keep a very open mind until the very end and then you can start speculating, the ending leaves room for various theories. Let me tell you for me this movie tested my tolerance limit for what I find acceptable but I still found it to be a very interesting and well done movie. Memories of Murder had some scenes that disgusted me too but not as bad as OldBoy. I am curious as to what you will think.

well i don't know about that since i haven;t watched the drama at all. But I would say the last case is definitely a two episode case so you would have epiode 6 and 7 on the moon che kidapping. The first case would also cover episode 1 and 2: the tape mystery (=8 episodes, so you need one more) so in your copy the episode two the visit from strangers I quoted would be episode 3 most likely. that's what I think but I haven;t seen the drama and just thought I may help you get the titles at least for at leat a little orientation :) sorry I can;t be of more help. wait let me check dramabeans again, maybe i may be able to confirm the one more episode that would be a two parter.

though now that I think about it the romace in jewel in the palace is meager, it is more about the trials of the woman herself, so I believe to fit your preference sungykunkwan scandal and the princess man would take priority.

ah. I haven't thought about it that way. Yes, the ending is very open. That's why I like it too, we could spin many theories around it :) Yes I saw episode 1 of Mother it was really good, if very heavy. Tonbi is different in tone, it's much lighter.
As for your TEN question, I checked out dramabeans recaps:
Episode 1 (parts 1 and 2)- The Tape Murder Case
Episode 2: the Visit From Strangers (?)
Episode 3: Mimosa
Episode 4: The Queen
Episode 5: The Forest Chaser
Episode 6 is a two parter called The Kidnapping of Min Chae Won. Source: Dramabeans.
But hopefully someone will repond to you on the newsfeed and perhaps confirm.
I am in the middle of watching this drama right now and it is really good. I wanted to point out that this has…
I believe I've caught up with you, Sunflower. But I am really taken with this story and watching it just go by so quickly and I don't feel like putting it aside so I keep watching episodes back to back and loe the story even more this way.

Just as a warning, though, the movie gets a little graphic. There is at least one scene which grossed me out. If you like memories of murder you could try The Chaser but the Chaser is a step more brutal, and then The Chaser s based on a true event. I think memories of murder are easier to watch. Koreans can make really dark and gritty cinema if they want to and when it is dark and gritty- they really mean business. Also if you like psychology you could try A tale of two sisters, ATOK is not scary at all, just a little peculiar, it's a bit like a puzzle.

But the point is that I don't think it took away the monster part...he had a look of pain on his face, as if he remebered that this isn't right. But yes I remeber the tv news, he was not affected by it at all. So then he didn;t remeber and instead went on his vengeance quest, but at the end he did remeber and so would likely have to live with the knowledge in silence, which is a punishment in itself. maybe he'd go on to committ suicide after this...
I wonder if you like Tonbi. I like it because it writes itself into my vision of how a father-son storyline should play out, I really like close father son bonds for some reason and this one I find really endearing, maybe because its so humane in the way the dad makes mistakes but also in the way the son gets to be so mature and understanding. I don't know, Bokami, to me the bond in the story is very touching.

Ah, yes, he is nice to watch. I am yet to see masquerade but I'm looking forward to it because he just fits to a period piece. I've seen Addicted, not a movie for me, since I didn;t buy the whole obsession thing. But Choi Min Sik is a great actor- I recently saw Old Boy- that movie really lives an impression, it is dark and probably just as gruesome as I saw the devil but there is just something about the way it makes a statement about depths of human nature...Koreans sure can make dark and gritty movies. Have you seen memories of murder? the ending there was very nice. I am watching tonbi, it's a family drama which plays exactly into my vision of father-son stories. It's very nice.

Hi! Ah, I wouldn't call myself an authority exactly 0.0, I'm just easily pulled into that sort of climate. As far as I've seen very few period movies from any country have a happy ending, but then I haven't seen so many historical movies. Shadowless Sword's pretty good as a martial arts period piece and has elements of romance, also house of flying daggers which is romantic - but both are tragic. For happy endings these dramas could be nice: Sungkyunkwan Scandal is a cross-dressing period piece with a bit of humour and romance. The Princess Man is definitely dramatic and very romantic. Jewel in the Palace is a great story with a good ending, but it's lengthy. I hope this can be of some help.

yeah, I am still wondering whether it worked or not and was it undermined at the end or not, that's actually the key thing I am wondering about because it changes implications of the message slightly. haha, but confusion makes your brain work. I like that in any storytelling medium be it a book, movie or series. But some of such are really acquired taste :)
