I totally understand you. One time is ok, twice is too much. Onedimensional and over the top. I found him especially misplaced in Fated Hearts. He cannot play a layered character.

It's ok to have different opinions. However I am not into romance dramas. And my criticism about the female characters is about the patriarcal idea of females as seductresses and lyers. Li Yan did not betray him, he just hated for too long without change of mind.

He is godlike, his powers are immense. There is obviously a great distance between him and the other humans. His followers can only do what he says or betray him (of course it must be the female characters, such a cliché in a male centric show). The most layered character is Tang Lici, the others are rather static. So I am struggling with it, but that's ok. Some like it, some don't. And by the way, I like the actors, their performance is good. It's just the story that lacks for me.

No, I only watch the drama. But these final chapters are like a relief.

From ep 33 we finally can move on to the finale. Finally Li Yan's delirium has finished and we are up to a showdown. More to my liking, independently of the outcome.

Turned out to be all fake. Which made it into a dumb plot device. Whatever.

I couldn't care less for this princess. Whenever royalty appears suddenly for a character, it becomes rather dull. Now I have still 10 eposodes to go. Sigh.

Tang Lici and his followers (they are not friends as they are not alike, they follow what he says, but never the other way around). An arrogant godlike figure becoming more humble. This journey is a bit arduous to watch, but I am slowly nearing the end.

Me too would have appreciated less Ashui, and a more independent Ashui. You can care for someone out of principles but without romance.

Sometimes it's not good to read the comments. As I'm watching this I'm constantly waiting for it to crash. But as comments are divided, I still have hope.

I'm not so impressed by this season. There is something lacking, probably the change of director, the tone has changed in my opinion. As I'm saying this I'm still at ep 15. Of course, I will complete the show, it's not too bad. But Lu Lingfeng and Su Wuming feel a bit cartoonish.

Thinking about this sacrifice without leaving the memories of it, makes me even think that ultimately this is not wise. Because if we make mistakes and just erase them, we will never learn. History is important, otherwise we will make the same errors over and over again. These are just some random thoughts of mine.
