Unpopular opinion but this is a very toxic relationship and they should’ve stayed apart. If the only way for you to “heal” is be with the person who hurt you then you’re 100% better off alone.

This show reminds me so much of "Master of my own".... The acting and chemistry is there but the writing and story is in the pits of hell.

First of all the only good man in this show is Lu Ze, ML is just a lazy, loose mouth, good for nothing, incompetent bastard. Will not elaborate further. I really hate how throughout the whole show they had Fl laboring and then her swooning over him for simply helping out here and there. I WILL NOT ELABORATE FURTHER.

Second couple and his family or such a sore eye. The business aspect was done in such a overkill way too but at the same time was very lackluster.....

The pacing of everything is off. From the relationships, to the business, even down to the very proposal.

The proposal especially was what sealed it for and allow me to draw the conclusion ML is a terrible, terrible man. He made no effort to appease or attempt to marry his previous girl friend but propose to this one in such a short space of time? it really showed me what I already knew, men uses certain women as placeholders until they're finally ready to settle down or their PREFERRED time comes around!

Anyways this gave absolutely nothing. The writers took a piss. death to all of them!

I must say Cdramas are on a generational run of rubbish this year. If it's not step-siblings fucking, it's adopted siblings and cousins. they even ruin perfectly written shows just because they wanna add in rape....Just eww brotha.

Thank God to the writers of "Love story in 1970" cause that's genuinely the only good show from start to finish that has been released this year so far. Everything else either started off strong and fell on hardwood in the end or simply just fell off in the second half of the show. That's exactly what happened with POJ. Great show but the something drastically shift in the second half. it was still good but in a OKAY way not WOW like it was in the first half.

I’m not at all satisfied.

I expected a grand battle between the Mo brothers or the very least a few good scenes of MXY fighting on the battlefield. They did all that build up only to give us absolutely freakin nothing.

The consort dowager and the empress dowager got off way too easily. And yeah yeah i understand it’s because they wield way greater power than everybody else but i think if not Ye Li , Jing Li should’ve killed or disabled atleast one of them.

Li fei Bai getting his eyes injured and hiding it from everyone to move into seclusion is not only stupid but also simply does not add up. The Fei Bai I know would’ve never hidden such a thing from Ye Li of all person. Maybe the others but definitely not Ye Li especially with her medical skills. It goes completely against how their relationship work and the complete trust and partnership they always share.

What pisses me off the worst was how her mental illness was handled. If they weren’t going to correctly represent it then they should’ve never began in the first place. We saw how it haunted constantly it’s only right to also show her struggle and gradual recovery. People just don’t stop seeing their hallucinations immediately after taking their meds but whatever girl!

They wrapped up the fighting and resolved everything in ep39 then decided that wasn’t enough let’s go ahead and ruin the last ep which btw should’ve been dedicated to family segment with them starting a family instead we got so many unnecessary scenes.

I was so prepared for some superb performances especially when you remember what happen to the former prince Ding. It’s so obvious that they wanted to build a storyline around the same scenario with Xiuyao but even that they gave up and left in the middle of.

Second couple and his family especially his mother are just way too annoying for me to watch their scenes. I've been skipping them nonstop. the terrible editing on Li Xinze face is pissing me off so i skip his scenes too.

The Dynamic between the ML&FL lead is nice and all but i'm literally on ep 23 and there has been no progress on romance. then come to find out even after 30 episodes they've still not begun to date? Absolute garbage. For pacing they should've already been warm up to each other romantically by Ep 18 and been dating by ep 22-24. Why else would I be watching 36 of corn salad?

Now they're gonna fast forward everything and prematurely wrapped it up.

Everything about this show is too much and too little and the same time. The only couple here that make sense fictionally and realistically is between Lu Ze and JingJing. They're the ones who need the screen time not whatever Danyu and Jun Cheng doing.

I think you’re missing the point. Yes they started recording without getting the clearance from the original first however some sort of agreement was made since this was able to air after so long.

Okay so this is my opinion on why this is failing.

Objectively this is a really nice drama to pass time however base on the original work/ source material it’s falling flat to most viewers who has seen the original.

I cannot directly speak in regards to that or make the comparison since I’ve yet to see the anime; however in my personal opinion I believe that though it differs a lot from the original work, People should give it a watch as a standalone.

It seems some scenes were cut due to copyright. But i strongly believe outside of that, the acting is solid, there’s chemistry between the leads and the comedy is on point. The politics aspect is just a tad bit draggy but nothing too bad.

Final verdict, if you’ve seen the original work and go in expecting a “live adaptation” then you’ll probably be disappointed. However if you’re able to treat this as a stand alone show then there’s a high chance you may enjoy this a bit. In my opinion it’s not very heavy and all the different parts are balanced enough to me. We also have a side couple that also has a funny dynamic.

Girl i l quite literally do not care... I'm not watching a show base on popularity of an actress. If I like the synopsis or trailer then I'll watch regardless of who the leads are. I'm not missing anything. If you wanna support untalented people just because you like them or they're popular? be my guess, that's your prerogative, just leave me out of it. LEAVE ME ALONE!

A’Yao trust issues didn’t appear out of the blues. It came from people betraying and lying to him. She also manipulated and lied to him. Overall i sympathize with her more than anybody else cause early on in the show i predicted she might’ve always been on the mountain on her own and thats why she created all those hallucinations to keep her company However in this specific situation I blame her more than him and believe his attitude towards her is valid. Though he doesn’t necessarily blame her.

In this specific situation the only true victim is A’Yao. Because A’Li mother lost the edict or rather got it taken away from her a whole entire family was massacred and the treatment of A’Yao legs were delayed for over six months. Yes im saying he’s the only victim because of 1. How she lost the edict. In my opinion Ye Li’s mother was very careless in her ways knowing she’s carrying something so important. There were many unfaltering officials she could’ve taken it to and she would have no problem getting an audience since her father had all the accolades to be shown respect m. 2. This careless action of hers cause several other deaths including soldiers and even people from the east palace. Ion know but giving the edict to your daughter and forcing her into a closet in a small room that you’re also in knowing they’ll come to search was really stupid and upset. She should’ve atleast push Ye li through the window with it with instructions to deliver it or hide it somewhere. Also seeing how fast they knew she had it make me assume she carelessly told them or she wasn’t careful enough about her surroundings and she was followed. Again, given the fact that the edict was the only thing possible that could rescue prince ding, his family and several other soldiers from treason; I believe she should’ve handled the edict with way more secrecy. She was even running with it openly. Ofc people are gonna know you have it and trace you down for it.
