What a fucked up schedule this is one of the reasons why C-Dramas are not as popular as K-Dramas... What a waste,…
We literally almost get two episodes a day and the drama usually finishes in a matter of weeks. We have to wait months for a Kdrama to finish and we only get two episodes a week and most of them have that weird murder plotline that doesn't even go with the story.
Dramas can only have 40 episodes and for them to not cut so much from the drama they had to put it in 2 parts. In hopes that it'll come out this year they changed the name of the second part because if they didn't we'd have to wait an entire year for it like Lost You Forever.
Since when any FL gender bender become males are convincing? I have watched many dramas with gender bender since…
Bai Lu in Arsenal Military Academy, Una You in The Heiress, Liu Mei Tong in Gone With The Rain, Ni Ni in The Rise of Phoenixes, Yu Chang from The Longest Day in Chang'an, He Lan Dou in A Journey to Love.
These are just from the top of my head. There are actresses that have put on convincing cross-dressing roles and gotten praise for it. The first step is actually taking off makeup which most actresses don't even do.
Nan Xu Yue is my favorite person in this drama. I usually can't stand when a 2ML is so obsessed with the FL but the writer(s) did a good job with him. His plans are not always pure but he always has the best intentions for the FL (his bottom line being never to hurt her or have anyone hurt her--is commendable even when she threatened his life).
The plot is all over the place. FL is not convincing as a male, the romance is eh so far (12 episodes in), and I haven't seen a sharp character yet. But it's short. so I don't feel like I'm completely wasting my time.
I've only watched two episodes but there was a small fight scene in episode 2. So small it lasted like a minute. If Wuxia is what you crave this is not the show I'd recommend.
After watching the first two episodes I've gathered that this is simply one of those cheap cheesy costume dramas that you have to turn your brain off to actually enjoy (which is usually fine because there good fodder between heavy dramas). The thing that bugs me and makes it impossible for me to continue, is the "comedy" they try and force upon us with the silly sounds and gags thrown throughout the scenes are simply not funny. And I think the writer(s) did the drama a disservice by relying just on that.
Also the ML comes across as a complete idiot and for him to be a magistrate is just overall ridiculous. I also wish they would have integrated the FL being thrown into a fictional story better. It's a mess. I've watched short dramas with a better interlude into fictional stories.
He's really handsome and doesn't look like he's in his 40's. I would love to see him as the first male lead in a drama. He can continue to be a villain because he's amazing at, I just want him as the leading man.
Asking genuinely, does any actor NOT get an award at this show? This list gives me primary school end of year…
All the top/traffic stars (or ones gaining popularity) get awards (almost like that's there way for them to come to Weibo Night). In a nutshell it's a popularity awards show.
I smiled these last two episodes. Simu and Xinnian we're so cute together. I want Princess Lin An to have more screen time. I know this is a male-centric drama but we're lucky if she's even on the screen for five minutes. ðŸ˜The reuinon between her and Qi An should have been longer.
Anyone else find it weird that the FL wasn't at Xu Qi An's funeral? There are messenger pigeons that could have told her something happened to him while she's traveling (if she couldn't make it). I would have liked to see her reaction.
10/10 it reminded me of the American investigation shows I use to watch (Castle, Criminal Minds, Bones, Law & Order...) because of the formulation of a new case in almost every episode.
so, I was thinking to start this series, not watched s1 as well, so is it really worth it?? honest opinion???…
Honest opinion: The first part is amazing but the second part is so lackluster in comparison that I regret watching it because it diminished my love for this drama in general. The romance is good in the first part but the second part is boring and predictable.
