Mate, if you're at episode 33 you might as well finish it, like you get evil Fugui (surprisingly cool) and the complete ending. Although the ending is um...yeah, but the CGI is cool.
Rewatching EP11 after experiencing JJK powerscaling and then thinking...."Wait...if a level 9 (special grade) demon can't one-shot a level 7 water demon....is he actually a fraud?"
Maybe my bar is truly on the floor after the Love in Pavilion ending (where everyone kinda dies and accomplished nothing and did 0% damage to the boss) so this ending seems somewhat alright to me? It could've been worse lol.
HE for the world, BE for anyone expecting anything, I don't know, romantic, I guess, like a happy ending for the main couple. Maybe just rewatch till episode 18 and use your imagination for a happy ending lol. (The fox spirit series is completely allergic to happy endings so you ain't gettin' any of that, book or drama, doesn't matter XD)
Edit: because of this, I'm lowkey confused by the popularity of the book series. Oh well, I guess I won't touch anything written by this author even with a 10-foot pole
Edit 2: booted up an episode of The Legend of Shenli and bam, what a nice and refreshing palate cleanser.
I rewatched it for some reason and I came across this line: "even if he (ML) has the power to move the heavens" and I suddenly thought to myself, wait, did he win a single significant fight throughout the series?
Maybe I watched too much JJK but like, he almost feels like Megumi no? Taking one look at his achievements, he's the definition of "Potential Man" (always "if" but never "is"). He did no damage to the only guy he has natural advantage against and had to summon his own Mahoraga (FL) otherwise he gets completely cooked lol. I know he's weakened and incomplete but this is kinda funny.
Thanks to sites like Fandom.com you can get the low down or spoilers on any work or series without having to actually…
I mean, yes, NGW is the official wife in lore but don't forget, these things can technically be changed lol. They still gotta appease to the advertisers and the advertisers also see the definitely-not-positive reception to NGW and the overwhelmingly-positive reception to Cai Huan. Fingers crossed, changes will definitely be made because...well, money speaks. From what I've heard, the author didn't even want NGW as the female lead when he was initially writing the novel back then lol.
No romance? But in the donghua (earlier episodes somewhere between 1-26) didn't Han Li already slept with Nangong…
Bingo. The answer to your question will be answered at the end of the Immortal Realm arc. (which is like, season 10?) But for 99.9% of the story, don't expect any romance. I honestly felt the same as you when reading ngl. So many amazing female characters and Han Li just goes "nuh uh" and continues his journey. It is often...exhausting to see this happen over and over but his explanation is that it may "affect his heart of Dao" so whatever.

I do hope that there's a lot more romance in the donghua + live action version though. The problem with romance in the novel version is that it never goes anywhere. (maybe in volume 2 but that's another 1400 chapters for ya) I hope they continue the trend with Xuan Er (live action ver) and give the characters more depth and development + more romance.

I mean, if you count that, then yes, there's a little bit. Which is why I said almost zero. Like, if you divide the number of "romantic moments" by 2446, the result is infinitesimally close to zero. The reason for that is Han Li is 100% hell bent on ascending and everything else is a distraction. When there is romance, it is over in the blink of an eye, boom, no more romance for 700 chapters, that's kinda how it works.
I swear the 3FL is THE FL this season... not the actual FL... If she's a FL in the future, why not just put her…
Well, according to the rumors, they deleted a ton of Gina Jin's scenes (during the 40 -> 30 episode shrink), which...is great. Cai Huan is the absolute fan favorite domestically and internationally. Now I'm hoping that they change some stuff and add more Cai Huan scenes in season 2.
As for NGW (Gina Jin), I think most people do NOT want the story to proceed exactly like the novel because of...um...poor reception of the live-action version if you get my drift.
>checks director, bro directed Journey of Legend
>"well...the main problem with Journey of Legend is the script and story, so maybe... (inhales copium) it'll be fine, trust.
(Being a Cheng Yi fan in 2025 is rough, bro is acting his heart out and can't get a W)
(it was only just a dream)
(Although you do need a tremendous amount of copium for this)
Second half: ̶S̶w̶o̶r̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ BE l̶o̶v̶e̶d̶ (lol)
Yeah you might have to wait another another show for them to kiss lol
he will die no matter what, it is what it is. lol
Cheng Yi and Li Yitong did great....but the screenwriter went "let's not have these 2 on the screen" and the rest is history.
COPIUM?

then the requirement to enjoying the show is "if you don't mind ZERO romance"
