I get that Gucheon needed to fight the Guardian Spirit (bootleg version of Isshin) but if the wizard's RESONANCE (literally exactly the same as Nobara in JJK) attack is so effective, why not just...use that and skip the whole thing with the Guardian Spirit?
Or better yet, RESONANCE Gucheon nonstop until he's incapacitated, THEN send in the Guardian Spirit. Of course, the Little Big Planet-esque Spirit might come in anyway, but this seems like a more effective combat strategy no?
Isn't the female MC supposed to be smart? Why would she ever ask such a dangerous question...to his face? WOT
"Yo, the way you became king is kinda sus ngl, mind explaining that?"
DIRECTLY?? Do you not see the King literally trembling in rage? And you KEEP ASKING? Like Saeng Gang is not gonna die, but you're definitely gonna get Gucheon killed??
I agree with the assessment that the story can be boring and too straightforward, but the action is great and the effects are amazing.
After finishing it, it just dawned on me that...
"Mercy for None" is a fantastic name for this show. Because, on the surface it is a pure-action John Wick copy (like, the amount of identical plot points is crazy)...
it ultimately is a tragedy.
"That's how this world works. It's never really over until everyone is dead."
The cycle of revenge truly is an endless samsara, and the lust for power...leads to nothing but emptiness once the honeymoon period ends.
"Sure, let everything go, let's do this camping business together. Why not? (chuckles)"
Someone said this whole show is based on misdirection, so I'll lay out a couple of points of possible misdirection
1. killer doesn't have to be a male, nor a singular person 2. anyone can be the killer, even the main character tbh (split personality or somethin' idk) 3. if someone looks like a psychopath, there's a small chance that he / she is just a genius 4. don't believe anything on the screen i.e. the edits and cuts, until the killer is revealed
Shouldn't the whole world take Dr Lee's research and judgement with a MASSIVE grain of salt after all that? The "expert" is basically a layperson lol.
Also, why are we operating under the pretense that only psychopaths will commit crimes? Like, normal people can commit heinous crimes too. "A world without crimes" is literally fantasy even if you indiscriminately delete everybody with the GENES.
The version we have right now is the new version, with Zhan Zhao's fight scene at the beginning? The old version started with Ling Long's scene with the kid, and Zhan Zhao's fight was a flashback in episode 2.
After watching the old version of the 1st 2 episodes...I don't quite get it, was there a need for an emergency edit? The old version is fine, making us guess "hmm why can't Zhan Zhao use his full strength?" New version is action-packed from the beginning, not necessarily better as it kind of takes away from the suspense?
5 episodes in, I don't understand the extremely low score? How's this a 7.9 show? Doesn't even make sense? The cast, the production, the music, the choreography are all good?
Final episode: So...I guess the criminal is genuinely that smart despite what Judge Yin said because...well, technically...if we don't cheat, he is virtually unbeatable in court lol.
Imma be real, I've watched My Golden Life multiple times as a SHS fan...couldn't answer the "number of brothers" question. Ain't nobody remembering that lol
Watched one episode, yeah it was pretty good. Didn't feel like it was boring, but I'll have to admit, as an enjoyer of Chinese history, I'm not history buff enough to understand what's going on and that's A LOT OF names to be introduced to right away...definitely a historical epic though.
Yeah you definitely gonna miss their days of playing house as fake husband and wife when they gonna break up in…
The show cooked me so badly that I didn't even cry during episode 23...like, when he wiped away the blood, my heart was completely burnt to a crisp. No tears even came out, just pure awe and shock.
Excuse me, WTF did he do to deserve this? He saved you from literal brink of death, gave you literally everything you needed to fix your brain and both of your arms. He didn't even get anything from you??
Episode 17: "When they've both woken up, but one chooses to remain in a dream, as the vision depicted in the dream is far more beautiful than the harshness of reality, letting the slumber dull all senses. But, a dream is, regardless of how real it may seem...always just a dream."

What was the king's plan? To piss Gu Cheon off, aurafarm and then get one-shot? What was bro trying to do lol?

Walking in without spoilers is super intense

Absolutely cooked him. Keep cooking
Honestly, good question. Very good question.
