Currently on ep 7, man this brings back good memories of reading those xiu-xian novels. Let's see if we literally hit all the tropes on the bingo card like: MC gets bullied by sect members and fights relentlessly to defend his dignity and honor / MC has to face an opponent that way outclasses himself but through sheer will and quick wit, he doesn't lose too badly (or barely wins) and gains a lot from the experience
Ok by episode 5, I already want Mo Cai Huan to be the main (female) character. Idk what happens next but I have seen Joy of Life S2 so hopefully Cai Huan is the love interest (even if she isn't the FL).
Edit: welp I guess not, she has amazing chemistry with Yang Yang...what a shame
Seeing Mo Cai Huan and then Gina Jin in the next scene...I didn't lose any money but I felt like I got robbed ngl
Ngl Zhuang Lu Yin speaks with such aura and authority that, even if he didn't do something, you'd think he probably did and blatantly not admitting (and he doesn't care) lol
I know a tiny bit about what happens next and I saw some of the discussions about ML and FL. To those who were complaining, like, I'm starting from ep 1, and already in ep 2 Zang Hai is taught and trained to not trust anyone and always hide his true self no matter what. Literally no matter what, especially if the opponent (regardless of gender) is being very sincere and heartfelt.
Of course ML and FL's relationship wouldn't be smooth-sailing lol. ML is a war machine built for politics and revenge. Romance is the LEAST of his concerns to be completely honest.
Remember, this is a guy who can talk about his household tragedy without any change in facial expression while solving a rubrik's cube (kind of).
8 to 8.5 is exactly where it's supposed to be. A bit rushed towards the end, the villains got taken care of too easily (considering how long they've been in this business for) and for the final villain...the answer to the question "why did bro do that?" would be "well...it's the last episode, so...yeah."
Overall, it was okay. I enjoyed it, it was mostly chill and I enjoyed the chemistry between the leads.
The Qin family main buisness is medicine trading. It wasn't explained well in the drama, but it was in the novel.…
You misunderstood, I mean, tons of medicine for treating external injuries in particular because of what Qin An likes to do...to those who were abducted
EP9: My guess is that Yang Yi Niang (or Mrs. Yang...?) endured for all these years because her daughter was being held captive. When that guy + Eighth Yi-Niang left that house, she straight-up told Mrs Yang that her daughter was dead all along and Mrs Yang wasted all these years for nothing, thus, Mrs Yang lost her will to live and jumped down the well.
This would explain why she off-ed herself, as well as the clear signs of child birth from her bone structure yet the absence of her child in the mansion. The child (not belonging to Qin bloodline) is the only thing she cared about in her life...
Edit: never mind, this whole thing was revealed in the last 6 mins of ep 9...I guessed correctly tho
EP 5: Yeah can we take a moment to appreciate how absolutely cooked 宋国公 (Duke Song) is after this case, like he pissed off the emperor by knowingly sending his daughter (previously pregnant) for marriage, this is lowkey a death-penalty offense...
EP5: am I the only one who's still lowkey confused as to why the big bro admitted something he didn't do? "To protect her" sounds like a flimsy reason.
(disclaimer: I haven't read the book)

Peak.
I wasn't familiar with your game. (slow clap) That was cinema.

why is there so much medicine for treating external injuries in this mansion?

What I got: An entire town worth of bodies beneath the buried surface
This is reaching like, Riverside Code at Qingming Festival levels of darkness, holy sh-
Mate you can literally see the Elden Ring boss room fog wall outside, maybe bring a weapon or two before going in...
"The head of a body can give you lots of information and tell you lots of things." (the opposite is also true if the head is missing)
