Just realized that pete knows the handcuff trick that kinn did in ep 6😐 my man is really not trying to escape…
The way I keep saying he is capable of standing by his man's side instead of going back to the main family but no one believes me 😭 Like he likes being there stuck with Vegas. He is living his dream.
or he tries to manipulate Vegas into letting him go since it would be hard to escape a remoted place without outside help lmaooo
🙇♀️ thank you for your kind and encouraging words, it truly feels like an honor to have someone say they would be willing to read a story of mine.
I might find the courage one day to write a story, I do have a lot of stories in mind after all. I just need to work on them more and develop the characters.
I think it doesn't make really sense in terms of characterization to see Pete as the guy who wants to bring happiness…
Yeap, let's agree to disagree. But if we take away Pete's empathetic trait and his optimism then that is no longer Pete, it is someone else. Vegas also works in the mafia but in reality all he seeks is love. Everything he has done so far is to get acceptance from his father.
They are human too, they are more comlicated than being cruel because they work in the mafia. I agree about his dark aura surrounding him whenever he smiles, I think they are trying to indicate that are are a lot of repressed feelings that lie beneath those smiles.
I don't think pete will turn against main family and plot against them as he trusted porche so much and for him…
I agree, that is why he stayed, just Build saying that Pete is not as good as we think got me thinking. plus, Bible said that their story is different from the novel. I know my theory will not happen but it was a fun thought to have.

Him not escaping when he got the chance might feel out of his character too at first but, since Vegas brings out his deep hidden side it does make sense for Pete to stand by Vegas' side.

It is interesting to see a different view on Pete but I do believe that if someone knows what is on Pete's mind that is Build who brought him to life. Even in the novel Pete is happy person and empathetic person in general, some of his traits that made Vegas fall for him. His skills of adapting to any situation got Vegas interested in him.
I don't understand how him showing empathy does not make sense. He does work for the mafia, but his empathetic nature never got in the way of his work ( only exception is Vegas). He can seperate his duty and his personal feelings. Pete knows that everyone is driven by emotions and motives, everyone has a reason for acting the way they do. That is why he does not believe in neither heroes nor vilains. He knows there is no just black and white. He understands that so he does not take things personally. He might be understading towards someone's cirumstances but he does not let that get in the way of him fulfilling his duty. He knows every action comes with consequences, which is why he is not really mad at Vegas either, he knows Vegas is driven by his own motives and reasons and Pete is paying the consequeces of getting in his way. That is the world of mafia. This is their reality and Pete accepts that instead of crying over spilled milk he decides to face the situation presented in front of him. He goes with the flow.
Pete is not a hypocrite per say, he just hides his pain and disconnects himself from the trauma. '' My aim is to spread more smiles than tears''. I don't see how it does not make sense that he wants peope around him to be happy. He shows his optimistc side to the people he cares about, he knows how dark their world is and he does not want to bring more darkness to them by revealing his dark side and trauma. He maintains a certain image around others. His smiles serve to keep his sanity and not to fool others. He wants to protect himself or else he might get drowned in the darkness of their world.
In the novel it is explained how he ended up working for Kinn, Kinn helped his island and his people for which Pete was grateful for and he applies for a job in the main family. His story might be different tho in the series.
About him being a masochist, I agree to some extend. It might relate to the trauma caused by his father, like Vegas, he grew up knwoing pain but he deals with his trauma differently from him. Vegas wants to feel in control to mask his feeling of inferiority in front of his father, while for Pete it is possoble that he embraces the pain as a form of coping.
You have a brilliant and intelligent mind, capable of deep analysis. Plus good writing skills. That combination…
OH MY GOD ! Thank you so much for your kind words!🙇♀️
I am glad I achieved my goal then. My intention was to provide a deeper view of vegas and Pete's character casue they are really complex characters in my eyes, if Imade even just one person to think on a deeper level about them then it was a success.
I will miss this series and comment section for sure. Hoping for second season.
Bible said in the character analysis video that Vegas and Pet go through a lot together, what if a fair amount of time passes meaning that Pete stays for a long time with Vegas, and what if Vegas and Pete come up with a plan to go against not only Vegas' father but also the main family together? They might fake their seperation to pull the bedclothes over everyone's eyes.

But it is fun to theorize a bit.
