Sidenote- Eating dogs is part of a stereotype for a different problam and is part of several motivations people have for practising another type of hate but that is a different subject. By using these comparesons you belittle these groups struggels and legitamcy and derail the conversation so yes it is very different.
I do believe you may beneffit from reading and trying to understand the article as a whole because it is about a lot more than just wearing clothes that are assigned to a different gender than the persson is otherwise assoiated with. Good luck!
I loved how well you put this part in to words, and compleatly agree with you on that, in that aspect the two issues are simular:
"I do not think there is much of a difference between using cross-dressing as comedy and using lack of consent as romance in dramas. I do think it is possible to explore gender issues like cross-dressing in a comedy if done right, just like you can shed light on lack of consent problems in romance based dramas as well"
I do not really know about the confidence, I do feel confedent about my knowladge and eduvatiin in both issues, but I think that while the issue of consent is very graspable, this issue is more abstract and I dare say more complicated depending on how and from were you look at it as well as it´s context in the world. All things I had to take in to consideration while writing this article.
I n the coutry that I live in both consent and LGBTQ+ rights are protected by law one in the law agains discrimintation that mentions these specisfically and that we do have a law that has a focun on gaining consent for such acts to be leagel. Both subjects are also part of the curriculum ffrom age 1 in kindergarden to univercity studies (done age appropreatly). Even if it not always practised and there still is a lot of discrimnation and violance here too. I am however aweare that these issues still are complecated and that very few countries do have these laws and curiculums So now that you mention it I think the slightly less confedence here is more in how do I write about this so that even those who have never heard of this can understand and not take offence while still staying respectfull towards this issue. but also the more you know the more you know that you do not know yet...
Sorry for the very long reply, do I make any sence. Any way I really enjoyd reading your comment it really did help me reflct upon myself.
