Hi, how nice to see you commenting on this article too 🥰 I really do not rememer that character from AKO at all, but then I dropped it for some reason too (I do not know why, it just did not fitt my mood). Funny you should mention the lead in SWDBS, I write about that in part 2 of consent that focuses on K-dramas but I talk about it from a deciet point of view not so much a punch line. But the use of the LGBTQ communinity that way is deffenetly problematic and should probably be talked about more but it feels more like a common trope in western shows than asian ones I can only think of 2 (of wich I havre only seen one) amoung the dramas/movies I have watched.
I really liked how real the portrayal in Mad for each other was, and was conflicted about hen the ML crossdressed, it did guive Samantha more screen time but did feel a bit like a joke (same with the cop in SWDBS), but looking at both shows as a whole they did rather feel progressive than opressive in my moderatly trained eye.

I have noticed that too and it has been bothering me for a while now, I don't remember the drama but their is a c-drama where they are at a hotel could be love scenery but I am not sure and she is first a bit worried and then gets dissapointed followed by her actually taking initiative. I think people have different deffenitions of rape, in my eyes it was a clear case of date rape while others call it sudduction so I guess that could be the reason. He first tricks her to spend the night in the same room promisies he won´t touch her but them mounds her like a dog while even though she said she did not want too, some people think that it was okay since they where all good the next day, I am not buying it and rather see that as problematic, because it shows that this type of behaviour is acceptable and that a no is a yes.... they do not show her saying yes or even showing the least bit interest in the act in the schene but is short and not very detailed. Add to it his controling nture and you have a relationship built on control desguised as love for the untraind eye.
