First Ying Lei... NGL his death hit me the worst.

Then Li Lun... He gets a redemption arc and goes out all in fanfare - YES YOU BEAUTIFUL MADMAN YOU!! *hugging Li Lun*

(Also why did we have to see Fei die again, poor demon? And Qing Geng too... that hurt.)

Then Pei SiHeng... Demons so handsome should be made illegal.

Then Bai Jiu... I can almost forgive him all his betrayals and misdeeds. But dammit, he's the one who starts breaking ZYC's heart while saving him.

Then obviously they can't let it just go and give them a HEA, nooo, they have to have Zhu Yan go also. I loved that ZYC gave in in time and never let him choose like YingLong had to - he was the better man than BingYi. Maybe it was the shock of seeing everybody dying around him. But at least he spared Zhu Yan of that pain.

This drama gave me too much and too many people to care about and now I'll be a wreck for a while.

...Why don't we have a special episode where that cute monkey he carved for Wen Xiao turns into him after a few hundred years of cultivation? I'll say it - some 300 years on a rock top maybe?

... I loved that touch where ZY realised in time his one-word spell work wrong. Also where the dream wasn't a dream but poison. And where they have a freaking fight between a DRAGON and a PHOENIX how much more symbolism does one even need?

But dammit this drama really had it out for Zhou YiChen from the very beginning - he loses his family, gets a new, great found family and then loses that one too, nay, he KILLS his zhiji because of fate!! He could just hunt them all down and deal with them one by one and I'd applaud, Just sayin'.

Loved the acting, the cinematography and music are PERFECT, just going to pretend there's going to be that extra ep where everybody's happy living ever after.

ETA The ending to the extra is hopeful - soooo we're going to get our little white monkey, errr, ape back, aren't we? :D

The last 5 eps are a total massacre.

The message of the drama comes from the universe directly to Zhou YiChen: F*ck you in particular, ZYC.

I rather see him fighting everyone who tries to let Zhu Yan take the poison himself, LOL. I hope ZYC isn't going to do the heroic sacrifice, but since other people - including Li Lun - now know how to do it, he might not even have a chance. I think Li Lun will have to choose between his two obsessions, LOL, who to save and who to let die - ZY or ZYC?... Hard choice.

Li Lun, since he's the only one remaining. And Zhen Mei (the other camp's commander), maybe, if he feels like having something to prove.

Definitely a good story, a subtle romance and a not-so-subtle bromance, LOL. It's very good. But they haven't kissed yet, so far.

Not that the story needs it, IMHO.

RIP Wen ZongYu, the idiot, good riddance! What was he thinking of even doing with the ever-burning wood if he didn't know the simplest safety rules around it?!

What does it mean that now Li Lun is detoxified? Will that make him stronger... or will it give Bai Jiu a chance to break out? Especially if PSJ and Ying Lei take him to Bai Yan. I imagine the shock of seeing his mother will help him escape, if anything.

BUT~~~ At the same time... BAI JIU POISONED THE BAIZE TOKEN! So let's count - first he's a spy from the very beginning, then he poisons the token, then he pretends to help when he's actually doing the opposite, then he deserts them, then he's taken over by Li Lun... and STILL they're giving him chances?

But why?? And why not even begin giving Zhu Yan chances, either, since they're so forgiving??

Dammit, it took so much time and pain for ZYC to accept ZY and put aside their death promise - though my heart is jumping with joy everytime they're mentioning they're zhiji because (if not lovers) YES they obviously are!

But now I am VERY mad at ZYC - he knows the method to cure Wen Xiao and he IS a demon already... he won't tell ZY and choose to do it himself, won't he? Except Ying Lei and PSJ - and definitely Li Lun - also know. It'll be a race of what happens first - ZY finds out or ZYC does it before he finds out...

In this ep: boys and their toys. They thought they had a method so they tried it, WHY NOT? If I were Wen Xiao, I'd punish them so they never tried it again, LOL.

A calm episode just means you're warned the next one will be a heartbreaker. We've seen the pattern way too many times before...

I'm just mad a few of the idiom innuendos passed me by and I didn't really get the joke, dammit. What was it about the sweet and sour ribs that sounded like a smooth joke that Ying Lei didn't catch?

It could have been a very strong reaction to evil-energy-possessed Zhu Yan at the time. And maybe that's how it "woke up" too.

This must be my first Thai non-BL and IT ROCKED!!! I'm most impressed with New, wow, he's such a great actor! I hope they give him more (non-BL) well-scripted dramas, he has the chops for them! All the others also were great, including the uncle (and the zany aunt, LOL).

This was an amazing story (particularly the second half, but they built on the first part too, in order to have the last half make a better impact). I'll be missing them, too!

We are all being primates together, LOL, humans, (great) apes and monkeys, lemurs, etc. But yes, great apes don't have tails. I guess ZY is protesting because of the tail part LOL.

She grew another flute wood, though, this is a different token from the previous one. And since it moves to another vessel so (seemingly) easy, then the power itself shouldn't be completely linked to the flute itself.

There has to be some other and maybe more dangerous link...

I just hope it doesn't transform into another reason for Zhu Yan to die - maybe like him dying would give the Goddess powers back completely or something. Now that ZYC doesn't want to do it any more, maybe a danger to Wen Xiao would still make ZY do it himself.
