And after many years of ignoring this (because I never liked chinese censored bls) I finally picked it up and…
Word of Honor, actually. And don't miss the special episode.
Going by already ended newish cdramas involving BL, there's just a tiny hope that upcoming Journey with You (coming on the 8th) doesn't end in tragedy. Don't bet on it though.
Heads up, The On1y One isn't finished (though I guess they won't ever make the second half, or not with the same cast anyway). The novel it's based on, Mu Su Li's A Certain Someone, does have a HEA, like most danmei. I loved it when it started, but when I realised they won't do the whole novel all at once... I was kind of disappointed. Telling you just so you don't get disappointed too - better read the novel for the latter half. Or better yet, read the novel anyway. Because it's cute, and Mu Su Li knows how to write :D
Anyway - other costume danmei (with a HEA, but lower production values, also based on a novel that's definitely not MDZS-calibre) - Meet You at the Blossom. At least they're cute LOL. And it's Chinese, despite it showing it released in Thailand, LOL.
Non-costume - Revenged Love (based on Chai JiDan's Counterattack - she also whote the (in)famous Addicted/Heroin.)
Myself, I didn't watch Guardian yet, because it's based on a Priest book and I just can't click with her style - but Word of Honor is also based on one of her novels and I did like it, so who knows, the drama might be worth it LOL.
And there are the foreign-made danmei adaptations. If you can stand toxic love (the drama is pretty faithful to the novel, and TBH I loved to hate on the ML and coo over the MC hahaha~) maybe take a look at My Stand-In (because while the ML is the reddest flag that should drop dead and die ASAP, they DO have chemistry together.)
And if you ever get tempted by actual bromance (no OFFICIAL love interest, though TBH I wonder how ao3 is surviving that drama), you might take a look at Fangs of Fortune. Those guys (and gals) are all paragons of beauty and I'm not even exaggerating.
Love of Silom Episode 3 walked in and quietly asked, “Why are we still pretending plot and chemistry are a pick-one…
TBH what I liked most was that Wayu has no idea what he let himself into and it shows. Even when he's dead-scared of doing anything but still does it, he looks kind of scared and he should be. I just hope it doesn't go over-dramatic (though I wouldn't be surprised).
*Wayu setting his alarm for at least five times before the time he's supposed to get up (and then still staying in bed for a few more minutes)* I'm in this picture and that's where I'll be forever. And sometimes I even fall asleep after the last alarm or hit remove by mistake. The last-minute struggle is real.
Also, half this episode could be titled "Red-Flag Setting-up Mission". I don't want it to become a battle zone, but there are SO MANY freaking red flags I can't see any other colour.
There are two timelines. One is the present time (eps 1-2, 33-50), the other is the past (3-33).WWX got a new…
Not in the novel, as far as I can remember. Though TBH it's not directly stated anywhere, and fans tried to calculate it back from hints. In the drama, it's even less clear since his "true" face is not even shown, and it's like WWX just resurrects to his own body. So... it's all up in the air.
Chu Ying (bros before hoes, we'll be each other's BFFs for ALL TIME, nobody's betraying anyone hereTM): He has…
But how did they even find her so fast, and then had time to choose the person to deliver the spell to her, etc, and even have them meet in such little time?...
Either they were stalking her forever, or their senior who died had someone who was even better than him doing the revenge thing...
q question.did Lu Hai died from the cuts during the execution or not? If yes does that mean Xin Mei is free from…
No, he didn't die. The blood contract made sure he survived (and all his flesh and skin were re-grown in about three days), so he IS that third husband yet. Which might mean he'll have some calamity to confront because of her own husband-killing karma or something.
I enjoyed that scene with the emperor in eps 5/6. As much as I love the male lead, I've to admit it was the emperor…
Imagine this - the Emperor only had some 60 years of life to experience. Lu QianQiao was already old when the Emperor was a child.
Their experiences could never compare. Like the Emperor, with all his woes and tribulations is just a passer-by in LQQ's long life. LQQ is spectating him as one does a museum object, trying to see what makes him human.
So far, TBH, the uninvolvment of any immortals in the mortals' lives is presented perfectly. I guess the ML will get out from under that frame of mind because he's falling for the FL, but so far we're still good - he doesn't CARE all that much, because he's seen a lot, and at the same time, he still cares quite a lot because these are people he has influenced.
OMG she DOES have someone she's smitten with! (I bet he's a bastard though, girl, look at your husband, he's WAY…
Chu Ying (bros before hoes, we'll be each other's BFFs for ALL TIME, nobody's betraying anyone hereTM): He has a cold. Xin Mei: Give him to me, I'll take care of him. Chu Ying (bros before hoes, we'll be each other's BFFs for ALL TIME, nobody's betraying anyone hereTM): Sure.
Lu QianQiao's FACE hahaha~
You can't help but love Chu Ying. I truly hope they don't kill him off to save someone or something like that. CY, you better survive this and have lots of kids with each of your numerous GFs.
A-Sheng is basically a psycho LOL. She went through them like there was no tomorrow and didn't even blink. I wonder how the tribulation will go - it's obvious he's interested in her, a LOT, and either killing her or somehow managing to not love her anymore will get him through. I want to see him fail though, LOL. I mean... did you guys SEE him walking in that courtyard? That boy is wasted in the Severing Passions Dao. He should be a top-level lover to our new favourite little psycho.
WTH did that guy put the Utterance Spell on Xin Mei for? For the tablet she has?
Oh and what's with the mute girl's companion? He's suspicious as heck and LQQ discovered it in a second. I love how nobody is an idiot in this drama (so far anyway, though I have doubts about that one female disciple who wants to kill Xin Mei because of reasons).
LQQ making salty flatbreads... OMG. It so reminded me of Chu WanNing making those wontons for MoRan, even as a wandering soul. Though CWN knows how to make them tasty LOL. Come on, gods that be, let them air 2ha....
OMG she DOES have someone she's smitten with! (I bet he's a bastard though, girl, look at your husband, he's WAY better. Stop looking at the other one. Stop I said. STOP IT RIGHT NOW!)
That spell is freaking scary and cruel.
Which reminds me - wow, A-Sheng is also freaking crazy, I love her!!! She'd take down each and every one of them on a whim. Just because she's bored. In-between hair and nail appointments or something.
Their plan was in the making for such a long time!!! Chu Ying being so happy for Lu Huai just being able to see…
It's been a few years since the ratings system went bust. Everybody can rate whatever, even dramas that never aired, episodes still in the future, give reviews of things that have just started, brigade from multiple accounts against an actor or actress or production team, go on rants over things that have zero link to whatever dramas they're on, etc.
Don't bother about it. It should be a system that allows you to notice the better dramas, but as long as the MDL admins don't do anything about it in any meaningful way, it's going to stay like this.
The success of the drama won't ever be related to this site anyway - what they do in the mainland counts, and that's where their money or fame will come from. I think whoever likes this drama will like it anyway, and the ratings here won't change that.
Like, she JUST finished telling him she learned a valuable lesson - then he has Chu Ying erase her memory of it…
I think he and the inn lady have a chance. Who's with me? (Then again, he seems to have a lot of by-side love interests all over the place, LOL. I should take a number).
Ep7He: I'll explain everything. She: Okay, spill. He: I had my reasons. LOL. He deserves a beating. Or two.
Like, she JUST finished telling him she learned a valuable lesson - then he has Chu Ying erase her memory of it all.
Like, DUDE!!!! Do you even KNOW how hard it is to change after you hit a certain age and get well-rooted in a mindset?! There you go, giving her a new chance to do the "wrong" thing again LOL. (I mean she wasn't wrong, but finding the dead guy you revenged wasn't really dead in the first place kind of makes one take a loooong look at that need for revenge).
It's kind of dangerous from now on, since the cultivators figured out he's a War Demon. And she doesn't even remember anything, walking in on the whole Immortality Pill session with all the rest of them who do remember...
Lu Huai, you can be immensely stupid once in a while. And for what? You thought forgetting would mend everything?....
At least there's Chu Ying there, I'm growing more fond of him every episode.

So yeah, they weren't even trying to hide it LOL.
ETA Also, LWJ was NEVER subtle. It's just that WWX is oblivious.

I think I'm falling for the ML :D
Just to ask though - what does it mean they're announcing "a pony"? Is that a slang for another daughter, or just a child in general, or...?
Either they were stalking her forever, or their senior who died had someone who was even better than him doing the revenge thing...

They're basically just waiting for verification, and will probably act like it's certain already.
