Some weird fandom war going on. If you want to watch this, ignore the ratings. The drama is good, if you don't…
Fans of Coroner's Diary (and other detective shows) don't seem to like it much (unsurprisingly). Some fans hate the female lead. I couldn't say whose fans they are. Fans of romance hated it from the first episode.
There's a couple of users who hate ALL the actors in the show. One left a review that has nothing to do with the show at all. Some people have a lot of time on their hands.
You should scroll through the comments. The trolls are evident.
Over the last ten episodes, I've come to love the relationship between Beiming and Xueman. It's emotionally deep, comfortable, a rare partnership. I like that they've kept it subtle too.
Sorry, but I'm missing something, who is this Peacock I keep seeing people mention? I don't see anyone by that…
Zhuge KongYun from the Secret Investigation Unit; Xiao Beiming's rival and the second smartest detective in Qi. Also known as 'Peacock' because he dresses well.
Idk y I skipped today's Papa Feng and Dairong scenes. They being sweet like forced romance
There's more chemistry between the main leads than these two. The XBM-ZXM relationship isn't romance-novel first-love sparks; it's childhood sweethearts who can read each other's glances and anticipate each other's needs. Very comforting.
Nothing. It’s not a typical idol drama. Watch this if you like character development, intricate interconnected…
That seems to be the problem, perhaps. Fans are going into this expecting a goddess bride, a Duke Su-type badass man, and some light detecting in the background.
So they ignore the very real and intriguing story and get huffy about screen time or chemistry (which, to be fair, does exist, but not in the stereotypical romance style. It's in the way they settle into a rhythm and are totally in sync with each other).
Their loss. This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Asian dramas.

It started off around 8.3. At that point, all the comments were about the FL and the lack of CP vibes. After that, the rating started to drop. It's really a lovely show. Just go into it knowing its not formulaic.
7.8??? The amount of hype I saw before it aired.... definately didn't expect thi rating. Atleast I thought it…

The drama is good, if you don't expect romance or conventional idol drama tropes.
I really don't want WXY typecast into the perfect romantic hero role. He'd die of boredom and so would we.

The low ratings are inexplicable.
I think XBM is going to survive. The best stories always grind down the protagonist and then have him rise up again.
