What I love about this drama is that it focuses on the romance between the leads in a way that I can't look away from. The way the care for each other is so doting and caring, they just don't shy away from each other in showing their affection, whether the gesture in itself is small or big, like the romance is romancing. Zhao Ling the man that you are.

This drama is steadily climbing as one of my top dramas. Haven't felt this way about a ML since Ling Bu Yi. Maybe Su Guo Gong, keep in mind my #1 has always been LOTG so this is like hella good for me.

Purely because she is a concubine, the others are all the principal wives. It's a status thing.

I'm only on ep 12, but yo her ex-husband is kinda crazy. ( Don't spoil me ) But isn't he kinda insane for like recognising her and staying loyal to her all these years, the only fault of his right now is not letting her move on and not accepting her rejection of him.

I'm ngl, there was so many comments on not being happy about the changes that were to his character and the novel, so I decided to go see it. But I think in the romance part, they nailed it. The novel is kinda long, I don't think I passed the 200th chapter.

I will agree with them like toning him down, like in the temple scene where they met shi liu ye, like jiu ye really was a beast in protecting her even though he was sick, I was sad when they kinda changed it in the drama. But I do think and hope that they'll like show his intelligence later on. The fl being more of a modern woman, I'm not really sure if I see it, but I do agree that she is more bolder and outspoken in the drama.

I love the cinematography, it's so beautiful! In ep 9 the scene where Zhao Ling and Fu Tingyun were saying goodbye to one another, they were like hella far apart from each other, but with the cinematography, it made it seem so intimate and close. UGGGGGHHHH this drama is so freaking good.

Bro, I love them together. After reading a bit of the novel, I really love how Zhao Ling treasures and treats her like precious jade and the drama kinda shows that too (the way it says it is for show) but he cares about her reputation. Like I love it when a man acts like a man and protects the girl. In this show it makes sense! She's strong in her own ways, subtle but there.

There seems to be a lot of drama surrounding the screenwriter, the fl and the novel like damn. I haven't read the novel so I can't say anything. All I know is that I am enjoying the drama, like it's good so far. But my main purpose is that I am here for spoilers, the drama summary says that he is a salt dealer so why in the poster is he wearing an officials robe? And it's the red ones too, so does he become someone important?

I want spoilers, if this was based on a novel, how do they came together? Since she is an official and he is the emperor and it seems that they aren't allowed to get together if not she will face execution.

Idk how I feel about the ML having a wife, concubine and a son? I don't think I've seen this in like non-serious period dramas ( that all of them are alive). Also FL dad, I remember him being the bad guy in other dramas, but I really thought he is just a loving father in this one. I feel bad for the FL, she's too young to be scheming and used as a pawn.

Oh im sick to my stomach if he asks Qing shuang to go home and when Ye li returns to the mountains does that mean she will be all alone? Oh no

Bro I could guess it was Pai Yi because she has murder motive, wu butler only knew that it was an er later on, I couldn't guess whether it was xiao ding or wen, but wen said which direction to turn the mirror to, so it had to be her for her needle, but between jin and he, it seemed like jin made more sense, but I couldn't trust if she was just randomly talking trying to convince or not. I want to say for case one, I guessed correctly as a viewer but with major doubts. Really enjoyed case 1.
