the production team is really making odd choices π they randomly take you out of the show with the explaining.
It really is. Omegaverse is very out of the box as it is. I feel like my intelligence is being insulted slightly and I cant work out if it's just naivety and low budget or a real choice from production. They fkn hate us, and want us to know that.
..... .. we are continuing the trend of, character exposition, just to explain/summarize to the audience becauese, what was with the random donut girl (who kept looking over to the crew for guidance) asking Phat a random personal question? π Just dropped their sad story, and wanted their opinion, from a complete stranger ...... i mean, is that normal in Thailand? Am i being ignorant here?
And apparently there is a whole thing between Ongsa and Nakin that I wasnt aware of it, is that what the kiss was for? I would have liked more info on that, because, this is what this writer/editor does. They dont build a story, they explain.... I dont know ....
I think, if I do keep watching, this is my last comment here because I dont know what to say, anymore π
Ooooooooh, interesting set up ... Did Aunt Jumpa abuse the crap out of Gaew because where did all this bad blood come from? π€ damn ... So angry ...
**** ***Cue pissy boots edit*** My turn to be angry now lol For translation for whatever fkn reason, that previous line is me asking, what the fk is Gaew's problem?...... It's ep 1, I dont know, I'm invested, I'm curious to know what his deal is ......because clearly, some people seem to have not understood that *** *****
Ok, I had to google the Krishna Kali ritual because what happened? π Dissolving ego and fear, hmmmm, Well, Great is a surgeon who seems to be having a hard time so, this will be interesting putting a professional into the 1600s, and not just a student. He ll have a lot of expertise he can bring into his past self.
Huh? Whats happening in here? Phats a cop, he hasnt had anything else to go on other than, huh, this person has been brutally murdered, was it you pretty boy? * Double take * .... shit, he is pretty ...
I mean, ok, he s lip syncing another song entirely, fair to the editor, I guess? ...but uhhhh. Sir, that's an acoustic guitar, it doesnt make the same strum as your friend there ... .. and it's not plugged in to an amp either ... no one is ... also ... who's playing the base because that doesnt look like a double keyboard π€£π€£π€£
the rock/live band needed researched a bit more, a quick google search would have sufficed ....
My instinctive foresight was strong with this one! π From the pacing, the plot to the reactions... well, youβll either love it or you won't, I guess
βIn fact, just today I was reviewing my drama watching stats and realized I have a habit of finishing shows just because theyβre popular, or rewatching/picking up previously dropped shows because I doubted my initial reaction (falling into that "maybe I was wrong and I'll like it more this time" trap). Honestly, that's just not fair to my own time.
Commenters keep using the exact same words every week: "there's not enough of..." It's never enough, which is pretty ironic for a show based on showbiz. π This is not a fast paced show, despite the set up. It's about letting things unfold naturally.
Ultimately, living happily is the best revenge. If you're lucky, the people who broke you will be forced to watch you rise above them. At its heart, this is a story of karma, just told like a 90s yaoi. Which you ll like or irritate the hell out of you. I grew up on that sh!t so i'm living for it π Sun has to do very little in the end. Jay is the only one with an active revenge plan. For Sun, Sky, and Kajorn, itβs purely a "what goes around comes around" plot.
βSun needs to heal more than he needs Sunny to suffer, especially since Sunny is digging his own grave all on his own.
Good grief, how long is this ... I'm a little over caffienated today π
Ahhhh, the team thought this one through with those Side Story interviews... Getting the actors themselves to explain their interpretation of what the character is experiencing. No judgement or taking sides. I like that. I need more teams doing that.
Its just suddenly dawned on me. Sun is our pov. We know that when Sky initially called him P Sun, he outright rejected it because hes traumatised and guilty and maybe feels he's unworthy of being anyones P, choosing Kun, as you would a stranger.
I dont speak Thai, so please correct me if Im wrong. But P is used like a sense of friendship and trust, I ve noticed in thai shows. A brotherhood for an older guy.
Sky, at school, was assaulted by his Ps. In fact the very reason, was because he didnt greet them. We re so focused on Sky's camera phobia that we or I just completely bypassed the importance of Sun being called P Sun by Sky.
Sunny is, well, we know what kind of P he is. Phakin cant get Skys name right. The only real P Sky has is his manager, Kajorn, who is more like a father. Has Sky had any kind of brotherhood after his assault? We dont know anything else about him.
When Sun allows Sky to call him P, its like its not just, yeah ok, we re good now. Its I will be the older figure that is missing from you. In that one scene, Sun has simultanously began healing both of them.
* Sun also jumped into his big brother role immediately which was very wholesome. Pakin may watch his mouth π
Instead of just having one character carry a heavy burden, theres cultural linguistic quirk (that was perhaps lost on me the first time) to show how two traumatized people can completely misread each other's boundaries. Sky trying so cheerfully to say "P" wasn't just cute, but an act to overwrite his high school trauma.
Just a thought as I speak english and we dont have those titles for people the way asian cultures do. And it suddenly entered my mind as the ep has been replaying ...
Hahahaha, so last week I said I had to have pad thai for Sat dinner but i'm in my 2nd heatwave and my irish ass is not built for this desert, so i had veggie fajitas and a strawberry oatshake, and it was awesome .... 30 secs in and they mention the pad thai again .... damn it!! I have to make that now, its the BL rule π but i' m too hot π«
Anyway ... random rant aside, The Sunny and Sun bathroom scene .... I stopped breathing and choked on my Mr Freeezey pop π«ͺ Sun looked him dead in the eye, and said, Guess Who B!tch!! π I'm going to be on a high just rewatching that for the rest of the week ...
The other bathroom scene was hard to watch, but I respect adding it for Sky's character. I kind of wanted to punch Boss though because, the line 'he's sick' touched a nerve slightly. How fkn dare ...
I was routing for you. WE WERE ALL ROUTING FOR YOU !!! π€¨
Sunny in the manwha was a conniving little shitba. I dont know if its because it's live action or its just down to the actors, but the viseral rage at Sunny this week is going to make his downfall all the more hilarious.
But leaving this off on a positive note. JAY.... the sexy beast you are, goddamn, baby, you had a whole 5 minutes this week and still managed to swing the biggest of big dick energy coming out of a BL, I ve ever seen .... because I know, and Im screaming into my freezer π ice cold baaby ... π
I wonder, about the guy targetting Chat for money, what is goal is? π€ is he part of the revolution as well or is he a solo gang fkn with an obvious weak link among the royals?
This is one those, damn, 10 eps is the downfall because everything is in FFW kind of shows π You need to simmer this kind of slowburn but it doesnt have the air time, so we re getting these constant flashbacks in order to fit everyone's pov in. That's going to get old I fear, I usually hate flashbacks. I can deal with the music overuse but damn, stop. I hate back and forth narratives. If theyre going to get caught, just show us that π
Im chewing on the fat on this show, and its well seasoned so far.... Jane Patrick makes me think of the bad guy in Pirates of the Carribbean, the 'its just good business' guy π *insert exploding ship gif* *edit* ahh, Cutler Beckett
I always say Lan Zahn and Wei Ying are Lawful Good vs Chaotic Good. These two are Lawful Good vs Lawful Evil π
Both Jane's have their own rules, but Little Jane is a moral compass. He's from a family of herbalists. Hes good, hes kind, hes loyal but now, hes already fallen and theres this tug of war between what he desires vs his convictions.
And from his pov, Big Jane is morally bankrupt, he's taking advantage, he doesnt care about helping, or the consequences of not helping. Whereas Big Jane keeps a record of give and take, and thats it. He doesnt help because he wants to, like Little Jane, he helps because hes getting paid to do it. A transaction for each others benefit.
And unfortunately, into that mix, we ve got all the rumours, angry people who's lives went to hell because they didnt get what they wanted from Big Jane, and BJ's emotional detachment is salt in the wounds, so all that bitterness is filling up Little Jane's head, and now he s as confused as we are.
He seen Big Jane threaten and hurt Put, so yeah, hes going to walk, even if Big Jane is an angel underneath.
The moment trust is broken, a relationship is over, because after, you're forever looking over your shoulder and feeling paranoid, before it blows up in an argument and a cloud of resentment, and then you both drag each other to Hades gates lol
.... So ... this just became my No. 1 show for the week ... I didnt think Payback would have competition but holy crap, the miiind Fuuuuck, and I'm holding on for my life π€― Since this is happening in 2021, I can safely assume the break up arc is going to involve a time skip? π

I'm sat. Looks promising.

I mean, did you not notice the big heart eyes watching Kay feed a cat and embarassingly leave 2 bags of cat food behind but like a saint, he s going to keep buying that stray cat food because his wholesomeness is really attractive for a hero complex cop?!? π©
*inhales*
Just me then? Cool π₯²
