Dude....what was that NC scene at the end of the episode....? Now I know people may not believe me when I say…
A few of us came to that conclusion last night but were greeted with pitchforks ๐Ÿ˜‚

So we can only assume that is what they were doing, with an overhead shot to show us that the leg positions. No passionate devouring, just sweaty rubbing ๐Ÿ˜‚

The pan out shows BJane on top and his leg is bent out, but LJaneโ€™s legs are closed between them. How doesโ€ฆitโ€ฆgo…
Was there much on the floor? I cant remember now ๐Ÿ˜‚ I just remember a table in the foreground of that room, with all the paint tubes?

But yeah, they could arranged it in order to have more bits and pieces to pass in front of.

I had posted criticism already, so I thought if I added that I was disappointed in the sex scene, I was drawing a target on my back ๐Ÿ˜‚

I did notice the leg positions as well but I didnt want to get harpooned out of cyber space ๐Ÿ˜‚

The pan out gave away that the choreography was staged for aesthetics rather than actual anatomy, which made this unravelling of the heart, quite lukewarm. It was more like BJ straddled LJ's hip and was just dry humping.
Unless of course they were? I guess I could convince myself? ๐Ÿ˜‚

BJane being painted as a massive red flag makes the weird framing feel even more jarring.
They've set up this eerie, obsessive 'secret room' plotline, (with the light on and the door ajar like a beacon at sea ๐Ÿค” ) yet the intimate scene itself felt so sanitized? instead of intense or grounded.

It might have to be where the actors and direction felt comfortable for those shots, since there wasn't much to use for body blocking ....

Slight olive branch, maybe?

In context to this whole second arc. I do agree that the sex scene was suspiciously vanilla. Whether that was the actors choice or the direction, who knows?
But it felt like it was unconciously matched to the more cute, domestic theme of this episode. Kids and sweaty passionate sex is not something you want to see together in the same hour ๐Ÿ˜‚

But the momentum has suffered. I assume we're getting some happy fluffy dating days before it all goes to angst hell again next week? And we've been set up for that, but it's such a different tone from the rest of the series, that you can't help but feel like it has hit a speed bump and lagged, even though it still fits together?

โ€‹We've been back and forth, is BJ trustworthy, the death of a supporting character, five years of distance, becoming working adults, yearning gazes across the office, that's alot of emotional debt to pay.

I think the director was maybe trying to go for a desperate, raw, primal pounding moment but it kind of looked more like a Sunday morning loving session ๐Ÿ˜‚ Which is fine, but it's more stretching that back muscles than burning through all the lust and devastation.

I said in my OG comment, that I expected BJ to be angry, I wanted him to be, so he would either throw LJ out for more angst or conclude with rough sex. A culmination of everything we've seen in this middle arc. There's a lack of emotional payoff that I was kind of waiting on, and I guess others were too. It's not an attack on anyone's preferences. It's just an observation.

It's still winning it's trophy for Champion in it's category for me ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€‹Well... hmm. That was certainly a side quest through the woods, wasnโ€™t it? ๐Ÿคฃ
Oh no ..... it's the last third ...

โ€‹Episode 8 decided put a stop to the streamroller of 'Ow My Feels', to give us two Dad's and their wildly contrasting parenting styles, navigating an adopted son with a peanut allergy, and somehow, still digging a hole for me to trip over by the linguistics of American football vs. European football along the way. ๐Ÿ˜‚
I cant believe I fell for that ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

โ€‹Iโ€™m all for structural foundation and I understand the necessity to set up Big Janeโ€™s family dynamics, buuuuutt, spending that much precious runtime on Little Brother Jamie? It felt like revving a sleek, high performance engine straight into traffic. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ›‘๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€‹That said, I do track Little Janeโ€™s logic here. Big Janeโ€™s enabling style of protection isn't and won't do Jamie any favours. He's already spoilt by living in the luxury that he does. Raising him to rely entirely on his big brotherโ€™s power, heโ€™s going to turn into one of those insufferable, "Do you know who my brother is?!" classic K-drama tropes. Nobody wants to see that.

Now, about that secret room reveal...

โ€‹I expected anger. No, let me refine that.
I wanted Big Jane to unleash absolute fury.

โ€‹I have not read the original novel so, I can't compare, but BJ let's Little Jane off the hook far too easily.
Where is the terrifying, shadowy black dragon Iโ€™ve come to revere? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I fully anticipated iron clad resistance when LJ barged his way back in, especially after trespassing into a literal secret sanctuary. I realise it's of him and he might own some copyright of his image but still ๐Ÿ˜‚
He wandered into that Dragon's den like a weeping fawn, but the moment LJ turns his eyes on him, BJ just melts like chocolate in the sun. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

He's a 70% dark chocolate dragon. Zero licorice, no salt, just cocoa butter and cream ๐Ÿ˜ญ

โ€‹Meanwhile, there's a tiny xylophone at the back of my brain, incessantly chiming, hey, hey, hey, Weirdo, Dan is still out there somewhere, spending every waking breath cursing BJโ€™s name. Have fun with that....

โ€‹That loose thread is driving my brain wild. Are we actually returning to that core mystery next week? Is that what's wrong with Jet? Because once again... sigh ..... this kid.

Somehow, his parents dont know about the gambling. Is he still gambling? Ohh boy ...

โ€‹YouTube recommended me the preview of Ep 8, on which I delightfully clicked on, and then immediately buffered with a Durex ad to hit their ad revenue quota ๐Ÿ˜ญ

โ€‹Google's algorithm said, "Hey, we see what you're watching, we know where this plot is going, and we are legally required to offer you protection." ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes the jokes just write themselves ๐Ÿ˜‚

At first, I also joked endearingly that the stylist must have panicked over Heng's limb proportions, but novel readers have very gently pointed out that it is a character detail straight from the novel.

Little Jane likes over sized clothing.

He's a precious, soft boy peach, and now I'm imagining a very different skin to the character. It suits him, and it's a beautiful contrast to Big Jane's strict structure and broken rules.

I, too, like oversized and slouchy, up until the moment my well meaning mother yells at me for dressing like a bag lady ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Ai'yah, I have found myself within you my sweet Little Jane, and I am sorry for the soft and cute discrimination. I will do better, esp at being soft and cute ๐Ÿฉท for I am flopsy bunny in a human disguise ๐Ÿ˜‚

I saw a comment earlier about the omega who's being hidden is actually Phatsa. All my time watching this I might've…
โ€‹Phatsa is the true Omega, unless the show is pulling a double reversal and Nuea turns out to be one as well. I would respect that, honestly ๐Ÿ˜‚ It was confirmed back in episode 2 when Phatsa received his classification letter from the hospital, and now Ongsa just outted him....

โ€‹As for who hid him and why, my money is on Phatsa's absentee father. We still don't know what the man does for a living, but judging by Phatsa's living situation, he clearly has some resources.

We weren't even shown Phatsa telling his Dad about Nakhun, just that he was bitten ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€‹Wait .... hang on to my feathers, I'm sorry what??

Last week, I joked that Boss Dad was plotting a kidnapping like a Tuesday night grocery run, but Nakin seriously, with an honest expression, just confirmed that he, Nakhun and Phatsa are fully aware of this impromptu hunting season for his ass, and are completely reconciled to the fact that Phatsa has been slated with a big red target on his back, to be chained to a bed and baby farmed within an inch of his life?? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

โ€‹Holy sweet actual baby Jesus. That isn't just dark. That is deeply sick narrative poison.

โ€‹And we all know, even when the writing is semi decent, the predictable resolution is to sanitize all parental horror into a tearful, superficial "Iโ€™m sowwy, my son," ๐Ÿฅบ or sweep the entire atrocity under the rug by episode 12 so Granddad can play happily with his innocent grandchildren that he wanted to farm into existence.....

Shiver me timbers, Captain. Absolutely not. ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€‹Iโ€™ve been treating this show like the lighthearted mess that it is, but the screenwriter needs a swift slap with a rolled up newspaper.
Backtrack immediately Sir.

When your main character's family actively mirrors the tactics of the literal human traffickers of your subplot, your moral compass has grown sentient and escaped from between your ears!

I want to go back to when BoatOat just got on like rabbits ๐Ÿ˜‚ I am about to get my very first completed 1 show ๐Ÿซก

Also, why Neua part of the traffickers plot now as well? ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

My fav part of this episode was when Big Jane said he doesn't like Dan's face lol.
๐Ÿ˜‚ yes, specifically his face made me laugh too. Some people just have that deeply punchable aura. It's a mystery as to why ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€‹That scene where BJ calls LJ into his office is such a quiet flex in romance.

โ€‹When LJ admits his co-workers have demoted him to their personal secretary, BJ doesnโ€™t waste any energy on an outburst. No screaming, no desk slamming, no bad boy posturing. He just quietly stands up, picks up the phone, and summons the Mofos straight to his office. ๐Ÿซฃ

Just a cold, deadpan "Iโ€™m sorry, but absolutely not"

โ€‹Loud anger makes me shut down. It triggers that instant, awful urge to internalize the conflict and feel like you're the one causing drama for existing. Just pure quiet dominance is so deeply satisfying and ironically feels louder and more fierce ๐Ÿฆ
