I just finished and it’s really wonderful. The drama has comedy, mystery, adventure, justice, friendship, family, angst, and even a little bit of romance.
It’s another male centric. There will be a few female characters. I usually wait for the official summary. In short, he was reborn after death and decides to lay low, enjoy life, and farm for the rest of his life, but he was probably destined for greater things.
At the beginning of the first episode, where they had dinner 🍽️, a senior told Yang Ling that "he must have…
He was speaking Sichuanese to the coworkers and his manager. He replied to Mr. Zhu in Mandarin. Mr Zhu made a rude comment about his background/accent, which Yang Ling replied in Mandarin very lively, choosing to speak how he wants. It’s a tongue-in-cheek joke on the criticisms of Dylan’s slightly imperfect Mandarin.
I would not be surprise if Wang Hedi announces he's become a director. If you've seen the BTS for GOTD and LBFAD, you would know numerous details were designed by Didi, including plot points and lines. That's why in his diss track he sang, "copycats can't replicate my soul".
This is a novel spoiler about Lin A being the female lead and why I don’t think if they do a second season they…
Yes we already know his relationships with other females will be more his comrades in the drama. Many people do not want to see a harem and it will not fly for TV, so you can forget about it already. 😄
It looks like at least a few scenes (particularly from the final ep) were filmed on a sound stage, the dialogue…
I am not aware of the new rule, but it seems to depend on their schedule, so it doesn’t sound mandatory. I can’t imagine not use VA anymore when there are many non professional staffs/extras actors on set with various accents. Some actors, like Chen Muchi, still have a heavy village accent. Hou Ming Hao sounds fine in Fangs of Fortune. I don’t know if he was normally dubbed or not in the past since I only watched him in Back from the Brink.
Dylan used to have a very strong Sichuan accent when he was a teenager, but over the years he has improved a lot. Well in my opinion, Dylan’s Mandarin now is fine or is a non-issue. I think he sometimes slurs his words so it is not clear at times. In GOTD he spoke in Sichuanese in two scenes. It seems to be intentional. I saw his recent concert and he was relaxed and chatted a lot. His Mandarin sounds very natural even more so than on shows, so I think he has improved even more now. But certainly he doesn’t deserves the fierce criticisms he has received from the loud minority. The majority of the viewers adore him, and they are not caught up in these things, and watch his shows that is why he is so popular. Producers will continue to choose him.
