I saw that Caesar Wu may have gotten another role that has not been mentioned before, so WD is still likely either Wei or Ziye. Could it because RZS taking ML 2 when WD is a more prominent actor in ML3? The title uses ‘special’ guest (invited) usually has to do with status. It’s usually not a minor / guest role. It would be such a waste of WD in a minor role!! 😄

Right, sect ranking doesn’t correlate with age. I read that Wei looks up to SQJ and Wei is described as “Green tea wolf dog” which sounds like he is aggressive..assume it’s because he is young. It seems they have love/hate relationship🥲, so better he plays Ziye.

Well, Dylan was a “Specially Invited Lead” (same translation as her role in Weibo) in Never Give Up. He was not the ML but because he is of same (or higher) position actor in a ‘supporting’ role, they give face to the actor with a special title. He had fewer scenes but more scenes than a typical ‘guest role (minor role).” Basically she is not FL and won’t have many scenes.

There’s so many titles. Could “special guest” possibly mean for prominent actors w/ a status that got 2nd lead role or supporting role? Maybe they want to give the actor some face.
It is said that Li Qin has another drama that will start filming in September, so her scenes will be finished within 3 months. Every day cannot be wasted.

This is the first S+ production of the year, so maybe other projects are really struggling to start up. Everyone is trying their best pack in their actors (it’s normal practice Didi’s agency also packed in Caesar Wu). 🤧 I heard they even bring their own funds. 😅 However, I’m surprised it’s down to the last wire. I thought they would have been decisive and confident with a good cast by now that matches the role, but there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the casting.

Someone posted LQ arrived to Hengdian the day before the script reading. She was spotted yesterday.
It seems age is not a concern. The production team must have their reasons for choosing them. LQ is older than WD and rumored to play Miao Yan fairy. They still look young and beautiful. Having a memorable role is much important as an actor, so even LQ, who can bag first billing, is taking a support role. I can see WD in either role…Complex characters are his forte and will showcase his talent, but I can also see him play a cool older brother too. Wei is not a villain according to the character chart. It feels more like a brotherhood.

Ugh I just saw a melon, Caesar Wu added to the cast. 🤨 I’m in the boat with everyone who thinks he needs to stay away from Ziye, and Wei. 😢

They will likely film a season 2 but not anytime soon. Dylan will be filming another drama for 5 months.
