Enchanté will definitely go down as one of my "forgettable" BLs with the likes of Fish Upon the Sky, Don't Say No and Golden Blood. Unlike the other three though, I actually find this one more endearing. Force does 'dorky, but charming' extremely well.
If only this dom sub roles you speak of was portrayed healthily in this drama. Doesn't matter if it's fiction,,,…
Well, protagonist just means main character and that's what he is.
I guess it's so Kuea wouldn't know that Lian knows that he's Kirin though, right? I mean, not just the kiss? But yeah. Creepy because he's trying to control Kuea even from behind the scenes.
We still have time for redemption of character, I think. Quite a bit of time.
Lots of people feel really romantic about kissing people like that. I don't disagree with you about it being wrong, but admittedly I can't pretend that I'm as put off by it as you and others seem to be. I'm looking forward to see how well he does get "redeemed" or how much worse it gets.

Protagonists remain the protagonists regardless of whether they are simultaneously the bad guy or not.
Stealing the footage didn't have anything to do with the non-con kiss?
Lian refraining from kissing Kuea upstairs could be the show acknowledging that doing that kind of thing is wrong regardless of how tempting/satisfying the person doing it may perceive it to be.
How the drama dealt with that last refrained from kiss is pretty much showing that it's not ok. No, the non-con stuff shouldn't happen and it was framed with the romantic music probably because the conscious person in that scene (Lian) was perceiving it that way. It was also during this part of the show we hear Lian's inner dialogue with himself. But I'm not the director, so I can't say that for sure, but I that's how I saw it.

I see what you mean, but think that protagonists in a show can do both good and bad things without explicitly being "the bad guy" or "the good guy" and from what I remember, Lian did the non-con kisses outside the club and in the car, he restrained doing it a third time once he got Kuea into the bed because he may have realized that it was wrong. Correctly me if I'm wrong in my recollection of that, but to me, it showed that he should be respecting Kuea in a way he hadn't before

I don't think there's anything wrong with acknowledging it, I just think it's somewhat strange how some of this stuff routinely takes center stage for some people. Shitty things can happen without us throwing the show in the garbage this early, but everyone has different opinions.

I wonder which world you live where romances don't display toxicity. Whether or not it's "OK" to be on TV isn't up to me and isn't my point. There's a lot of things to take issue with if you look at anything from Disney to BL to mainstream Hollywood romcoms. Toxicity is everywhere. Sexual assault is everywhere. No, it's not OK and I didn't write that I think it is. I also think the show isn't totally 'glorifying' it completely because it shows the very clear consequences of Nuea and Kon Diao being in these types of restrictive relationships. My point is that the whole premise of the show is absurd. I don't know get how it can be so outraging that their relationships are equally as absurd.
Part of me likes how irreverently messy this was. People lose in love and get f***ed over every day. Millions of us need to visit a therapist and most of us don't go. Almost every stupid action, except Valen's misconception of the cheating thing seemed like things that I've seen irl. The other part of me is annoyed at the dead-end bunny trail storylines and the existence of Non, June, and Ice. I understand why Non is there, but I don't understand why he needed as much screen time as he gets given his ultimate outcome. Between him being emotionally tortured, Ice blabbering about a dog, and June going to school and talking to classmates, we could have cut this down by at least an episode.
Everything else about this is true to one extent or another, but China has not "banned LGBTQ+ content all together". LGBTQ+ content can be produced and shown on the platforms that allow it. The issue is that the major platforms themselves won't allow it because they don't want to deal with the possibility of government intervention. Honey Sir is a good example of that. That said, this only applies to domestic content. BL from other countries like Thailand is fully accessible China. In addition to this, BL content made from around and before this time period within China is still accessible.
I was just rewatching this and forgot how good it is. But why would wearing damp underwear give someone diarrhea?…
I think you mentioned that you lived in East Asia for a while. If it was long enough, then I think you exactly what kind of "only drink hot water", "don't bathe for a month after giving birth" health advice this is.
It seems some people are ready to suspend reality for the notion of two guys from prominent families in Thailand being engaged to each other and the families not minding to the point that Lian's father is more worried about him opening a club and that affecting his relationship instead of him marrying a guy and that affecting their reputation, but aren't willing to suspend reality for super dom-sub roles of the main couples and instead judge them as if these characters aren't living in a complete fantasy world...
Yeah, that's what I assume from watching Thai BLs. It's always close friends using it, but when someone says it as an insult, you hear the serious music in the background. haha
I'm with you Texas Titan. There is more to a relationship than just the beginning and how a couple get together.…
Right, Texas Titan mentioned, not Tis_I, but in your in your comment to Tis_I, you asked her specifically why drag SOTUS into it. Tis_I didn't mention SOTUS. lol
