Excellent questions! To the first one: honestly, no. Runyu and Jinmi were friends. Runyu had no other friends. If his brother were the brother to him that he ought to have been, he may not have been so obsessed/attached to her.
To the second one: under the circumstances that I just mentioned, I don't think he would have wanted to marry her in the first place because he'd simply value her friendship.
About Kuanglu, I don't believe she actually loved him. She admired him from before and was always drawn to him, but she was only ever actually close to him in a professional (as professional as a personal guard can be) way. Runyu didn't even look her in the eye most of the time when speaking to her or when she was speaking to him. Obsessed with him? Maybe.
In my view pretty much all the conflicts in this show can be traced back to the emperor (the seed of the issues), the empress (the instigator), and XuFeng (the one with the options to change it all, but actively decided against it).
Runyu was driven to insanity. He didn't get there on his own and that's sad because he really wasn't terrible at the beginning.

Yeah. He was just a little *too* visibly old. At the time of filming, actor playing Farm was 22 and the actor playing the doctor was 42. Were I an actor, I don't think I'd have much of an issue being intimate with someone I wasn't my sexual preference (a girl in my case), but someone old to be my father is very, very different.

Yeah, but that was all the way at the end. If XF had taken proper responsibility as future king, stood by his brother and opposed his mother, the whole conflict could have largely been avoided. A lot of Runyu's wanting to keep Jinmi was based on how much was taken from him and denied to him.

I can agree that loving Jinmi was the biggest wrong thing Runyu ever did. She wasn't even that good of a friend to him. She wasn't worth driving himself insane.

Everyone in the heavenly realm lied, manipulated and killed. However, XF not only did some of those things himself, but also defended a person who did *all* of those things while fully knowing that she had done them AND tried to pass himself off as innocent.

Jae Hyun's outbursts and his stares of tragedy and rage were pretty spot on for me. Also, I think he's one of the most beautiful human beings I've ever seen. Maybe it's because I've seen an inordinate amount of K-drama that made this one seem not as hard-hitting as it might have been. I mean, even Peach going out of his way to say 'Saranghe' (I love you) in Korean instead of in Thai as he had been speaking the whole time just screams "Formulaic k-drama!" However, while I think Tommy held his own, Jimmy was just OK for me. He wasn't bad, but he didn't match Jae. If I could have slipped in another Thai actor in his place, I probably would have chosen Kimmon or maybe even Zee (if not for talent, then for looks on this one lol)
Well, barring the fact that one of them is dead, I guess they were always technically 'together', but if you mean if there was some miracle that brought Yoon Oh back to life, no. At least, not clearly. The ending was kind of a cliffhanger.
I liked the acting, especially from Jae Hyun and Ae Yun and the chemistry between Peach and Yoon Oh was great. The music was also really good. I just think maybe Yoon Oh and his mom's relationship could have been fleshed out a little better and I wish we didn't have to have elephant-in-the-room questions like "Who's driving the go-kart?" "How and why are ghosts changing clothes?" lingering around. 6/10
