I get your perspective, but bottom line for me is that where you like to see the growth via the conflicts, I can take it in big sweet doses. BL isn't going to give me diabetes.
For me, the insecurity is still there. In this episode, we see the doctor raise the concern to Pha again about how similar Tian is to Torfun and from Tian's side, I think a huge reason why he isn't the one to come out and say, "Hey, chief, I love you first." is because he's still not secure about the whole Torfun thing. Before I think he was more confident and optimistic about righting this wrong of us, but as the episodes have gone on and he's realized how big of a deal Torfun was for everyone, even Pha, this is stopping Tian from being more forward with Pha.
All that said, we have three episodes to go for them to either bring this home well or, in classic fashion, have a huge falling out that lasts way too long and a new, sudden conflict that gets resolved super quickly and easily despite how big of a deal it is because there's not enough time to solve it with the proper amount of episodes.

I feel like we get pretty substantial growth episode after episode. It’s slow, but I’m ok with that. Manufactured crises are all too common in BLs and not may people like them, so when we actually just get a few full episodes of romance and we appreciate it. Not all of us, clearly, but there are those of us who do. haha

Ah ok. I haven't been over to SOTUS page for a while now (years actually, I think lol). I mean, you're totally right. That's a very sound explanation of his character, but I just don't tend to not like or have very much empathy for people like that. You can't be shy and reserved AND loud and domineering. Pick a damn struggle. I know, I know, he's a product of his environment, but meh, I wouldn't ever want anything to do with him if he were a real person. lol
Kongpop got on my nerves too, but that's a whole other story. Another thing is that SOTUS was one of the first BLs I watched. The third, actually. After having watched Addicted and Make It Right, I was expecting more romance and less 'build up'. Not skinship, but just like dates and lots of cute stuff. All the hazing and stuff really turned me off and the fact that they ended up really being nice to each so late in the series kinda made it lose magic. SOTUS S was definitely better because we did get to see all that romance, but again, I hate Arthit and SOTUS S didn't do enough to mitigate that. LOL
I didn't think knowing about ancient Chinese poetry would pay off so much and in such a gay way after having read it. haha There are so many references here that I think may even be flying over the heads of many native speakers. Wen Kexing is very well-spoken.

I thought everyone loved SOTUS? I didn't personally, but it's because Arthit is like my least favorite character to ever be in a BL, but I always thought the general opinion is that it was amazing.

Fair enough. :) Gong Jun is actually the reason I started this anyway. It's been so long since I've seen him, so I'm curious. I'm happy it's exceeding my expectations (even if not totally) and according to the other comment, I'm looking forward to the future episodes.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not familiar with ZZH outside of this drama, so, in spite of him being probably the most experienced and possibly the most charming, I just don't know him, so *shrug*
I choose Wang Yibo. As far as being physically handsome, he has the aloof look which I like. When he's not smiling, it looks like he's quietly thinking about murdering someone or about how he just has. lol I find this extremely sexy. I'm also a huge fan of his lips and how when he smiles, his mouth curves to the side.
As far as being attractive otherwise, he's confident and brooding, but really knows how to come out of his shell and be silly too. He's honest and direct (to the point of embarrassment sometimes which I always find hilarious).
