I feel like this should have a higher rating. I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting to, and laughed so much.…
For sure! I’m surprised at the comparatively low rating as well. It might be cliche but it sure is well executed and the humor is golden. Plus it has high rewatch value and is incredibly entertaining!
So, the teaser doesn’t really show anything. Are Aki and Miko still going to be in this project together? They’re on the cover but not listed under cast.
Well...it was still cute and kinda funny but mostly disappointing and boring. Almost every scene was dragged out to such unimaginable lengths -_- I guess it doesn’t help that this came right after Puth and Kaengs story.
I agree with your review. Li Chen and Muren's kissing looked so unnatural to me. Their make out scene was edited…
Yes, the editing in this was horrendous. The whole development of the step-brothers relationship was very strange. Im not even sure what they were going for by showing the older brother trying to establish boundaries by teasing the younger bro. He didn’t seem to have a dominant bone in his body and was rather a soft and mellow person. Him trying to be more assertive seemed , honestly, kind of sad and almost pathetic to me. Like he was overcompensating or trying to get some semblance of control back after his younger brother assaulted him. And knowing the younger brothers calculating and scheming mind it’s very clear that Xing would never be able to genuinely establish boundaries. It felt like he tried but the younger one was like „yeah, yeah, I’m going with this for now bc it’s not a big deal and it’ll make you think you have control in this relationship even if you don’t“. Idk, that’s just how it felt to me. I’m sure it wasn’t meant to be read that way bc their story still needed to come off as romantic but I just couldn’t see it. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the younger brother ended up murdering someone out of jealousy a couple years down the line, f.e. if he saw someone flirting with Xing, considering how he attacked Muren for simply standing close to his big bro. I feel like this could’ve worked well as a REALLY dark story but this portrayal was neither here nor there. You’re right, the script should’ve been a lot more developed. It’s sad seeing such a step back for the HIStory franchise. Trapped was sure a good couple of levels above this one.
Guys.. right now I'm very busy but I can't go on without watching bl anymore. So I'm thinking of starting this…
That depends. Unless you enjoy campy, trashy, b-movie style type of humor you might not like it. It’s very funny though. It’s like intentionally, unintentionally funny. The stories are not really meant to be taken very seriously. Though I would say that the ep 9&10 as well as maybe 7&8 are more serious. If you’re looking for dramatic and deep storylines, this just might not be for you bc it’s more of a feel-good, fairytale-like type of show :D
I’ve thought about it some more and they should’ve planted the seed of Puths feelings for Kaeng way before, so the ending wouldn’t seem so rushed. For example they could’ve gone two different routes: 1) Make Puth realize he’s in love with Kaeng early on and but decides to disregard his feeling bc Kaeng is a playboy and therefore run to the next best option ->Payu, in hopes of distancing himself from Kaeng and the whole playboy scene.
2) Or they could’ve let Puth be genuinely smitten with Payu but soon after also letting him catch some feelings for Kaeng along the way, bc Kaeng would more actively try to insert himself into Puths life and consequently show a lot of his vulnerable side. That way it would help Puth look at him in a different way.
But either way, they should’ve started letting Puth confront his feelings for Kaeng early on. Either in ep 9 or at the very least in the first half of ep 10. Otherwise the ending unfortunately feels a little rushed. Still love it though. Just feel a little bit of disappointment bc it actually could’ve been better T-T
I loved ep 9 and 10. Almost everything was perfect! Incredibly fascinated by Torus and Firsts acting. Every one of Torus micro expressions was on point. And Firsts crying scenes were fantastic! I especially loved the color scheme in these episodes, Puth wore mostly green (bc Wednesday) and Kaeng wore the complementary red. The lighting looked beautiful too, especially in nightly scenes. The only thing I felt a little unsatisfactory about is the moment after Kaeng and Puths dinner and the night that followed. The pacing felt a little too quick. I wished they would’ve shown Puths struggles when he finally decided to reject Payu. Like, when did he decide to do it? What exactly prompted him to do it? Did he think about it the whole night he was with Kaeng? I still love the episode, it’s just that Puths decision seems to come a little out of nowhere. I know that he kind of explained it at the end but I still wished they’d shown the “emotional path” of his decision making, if that makes sense..
I guess it doesn’t help that this came right after Puth and Kaengs story.
