He said it because everyone except for them in Daze is dead. His whole family is dead because he loved Ah Yin. He doesn’t BLAME her but himself because Ah Yin is his calamity.
However, Ah Yin misunderstood. Well, slightly misunderstood. She thought he blamed her. She also blamed herself that everyone is dead and so many died in the war. That’s why she didn’t tell Yuan Qi that she already had suffered seven thunder strikes. Ah Yin thinks this Yuan Qi god does not love her. She wants to die.
