I think it's because she was able to be a kid and continue her studies while he had to take on so much responsibility. He is really smart and would have easily gotten into uni but his father forced him to go to vocational school instead of the high school she attended. Then when both parents peace'd out, he had to work and used his brains to make the big bucks in unsavory circles.
I love this series so much. I have just started in the past two weeks trying to have a normal sleep cycle because my body clock was way, way, way off, thanks to staying up all or half the night watching dramas. But I fear I may be up at midnight watching the new episodes of this drama, which I did with Dazzling and Never-Ending Summer.

I know what you mean. He is divine in BOP. I was disappointed to learn that his next drama after SAL was a period one because at the time I never watched them, but I have a few under my belt now and am loving it.

He was interested in FL but for various reasons held off on pursuing her and was even kind of mean to her during the period in which she really liked him, but expected her to be waiting for him when he was finally in a position to think he could go after her. She was from a rich family and he was poor. Then when she found true love, and he had a successful career, he had the nerve to be upset that she hadn't waited because of some silly innocuous thing she'd said to him during their uni years. He was very cold and entitled; really sour personality. He was also pissed because the ML came from a background similar to hers. It's a really good drama.
