Excellent political period drama

This is an excellent political period drama. The actors are well known and the complete cast together are fun to watch.
Of course there is a love storyline as in most C-dramas. I found a few episodes in the middle of the series difficult to watch as there was "sadistic" violence against women and children. Even without these troubling episodes, this series would have still been excellent and probably one of the best period drama of 2026.

Who's the bad guy?

Wow! even though this series is a little dated, (2019), the story is a "mild" psychological thriller. Who's the real bad guy, we just don't know. Every episode is filled with intrigue. Yes, because it is a little older, the fashion sense is dated but that's just fine. The fun of this intrigue, makes it a binge watching series to find out who is the good guy and who is the bad guy.
For sure 58 episodes is a lot for any series, but I still finished it.

Excellent Psychological Thriller

This is an excellent psychological thriller. Everything about this series is so intriguing. If you can get past the violence of the first 4 episodes, the intrigue is amazing that I just continued watching. All the characters play such a great role and trying to figure out the true story behind the scenes is what makes this series interesting.

Too simple

This series first 4 episodes are kind of dramatic. Then there a scenes in the other episodes that are too immature for the mail leads who are in their early 40s and 50s. More character plots for young teenagers. The story is good, the music is good but I stopped watching by episode 9 as there was not enough intrigue, and mature material for these main leads that I usually truly enjoy watching.

Murder case investigations

This series is based on different murder cases and the investigation of each to find the truth. The actors are well known and do a perform well. I didn't finish the series only because this is not my type of entertainment. It is well done and can be well appreciated for others who enjoy plots with intrigue and investigation into "who did it".

Hilarious

A funny, simple family comedy worth watching. If you just want to laugh out loud, relax, this is the series. With some of the most famous Chinese actors, they developed the funniest characters.
Like many C-dramas, the first half is very funny and then the 2nd half of the series becomes a drama, but I have to say a well done drama.
