Refreshing

I truly like this series. It is a light, refreshing comedy with a detective theme. There's a romantic overtone, and a series of cases to investigate. The main lead; Jeremy Xu is well known and truly exceptional in this series. I think I prefer period series as they are more conservative and have more depth than urban series in C-dramas. Sometimes the music is much too loud. There is a twist at the end, so it is a good idea to watch until the end.

Too simple

This series first 4 episodes are kind of dramatic. Then there a scenes in the other episodes that are too immature for the mail leads who are in their early 40s and 50s. More character plots for young teenagers. The story is good, the music is good but I stopped watching by episode 9 as there was not enough intrigue, and mature material for these main leads that I usually truly enjoy watching.

What a breath of fresh air

This is a humorous period series. It has humour, intrigue after intrigue; political strategy in the imperial court. The writers did such a good job in every episode, to mix intrigue with humour. The music is also perfect, not to loud as many C-dramas can have very loud music. The composer did an amazing job with this music. It has many great well know actors that makes this a series not to miss.

Heart warming family comedy

What a refreshing heartwarming family comedy. With a multi-generational home environment, this is a pleasure to watch. I enjoyed the dynamics of both families. You need a box of tissues close by to watch this. It brings out good emotions, dealing with life issues not often discussed. I would recommend watching this series.

Stressful and intriguing

This is a surprisingly stressful and intriguing series. I did drop it reluctantly because of the theme. It is revenge for past history of child abuse and I found it too difficult to watch. Who's the bad guy is the question while I am watching. Trying to figure out what is really happening. It seems to be a spy series, but time will tell. The main leads are excellent but even the support cast are all well known.

Murder case investigations

This series is based on different murder cases and the investigation of each to find the truth. The actors are well known and do a perform well. I didn't finish the series only because this is not my type of entertainment. It is well done and can be well appreciated for others who enjoy plots with intrigue and investigation into "who did it".
