Why can't I watch ep37 onwards even though I'm a subscriber to iqiyi? I thought it's released?

Me too. i complain about cdramas being too long and filled with fillers but this one needs more episodes because the second half plot was moving too fast and resulted in plot holes because they had no time to explain things. i dont mind watching this one episode per day for a few weeka more.

The latter episodes has degraded, pushing the drama quality down closer to standard idol based cdrama quality. Prime example, Fan Changyu turning from a butcher into Alexandress the Great without any battle experience or training. Sloppy battle scenes... magic meeting forest etc. Was the novel this careless? I gather in the drama , its because of pacing issues, too many episodes on the village( Lingyan?) arc and now the director have to leave a lot on the cutting floor to finish the drama by the stipulated 40 episodes?

This cdrama portray the FL like the Mulan of the Disney movie remake. She already has superhuman strength and is basically already a girl boss. The Mulan of the Disney animated version was better, she had to use her intelligence to overcome her lack of brawn.

You are correct. The way they portray the role of the general in cdramas is totally simplistic and the usual trope of charging headlong into battle is suicidal. You are going to end up charging into volleys of arrows from crossbowmen and archers. And then crash into formation of spearmen specifically tasked to stop calvary charges. The Chinese general is in charge of a combined arms army, strategy, tactics and most importantly logistics comes first. Out of necessity, he stays away from the frontline. If he falls, the army may rout. I wish they portrayed the FL as she matures as progressing in brains rather than brawn.

I just think this show has raised the bar for female general themed cdramas. The director of Legend of female general is quite lazy, he does not attempt to patch all the glaring bonkers plot holes in the show and thinks that the flirting and chemistry between two beautiful people is enough to get the show to be popular (He is right unfortunately!).
