Am I the only one who doesn’t want the happy ending? I miss historical dramas based on true facts that made…
I am a wimp. I'm going to try my best to stop at ep15. The news from the real world is depressing enough these days, I'd like to watch shows to make myself happy not sad :-).
I was hopping they'll skip the bad part and just put up an on screen epilogue .

lol. I lost count of how many times I rewatched the episode where Dong Yi discovers the prefecture officer is…
Well, Dong Yi is mainly made up fairy tale based on real historical characters. Very little is known about the life of Choi Suk Bin , even her real name. I am guessing that the author of Red Sleeve Cuff had more historical documentation to work with.
Hmm, My comments appeared twice. Strange.

I came here after watching The King's Affection. It almost finish and I have to have another historical drama…
lol. I lost count of how many times I rewatched the episode where Dong Yi discovers the prefecture officer is actually the King. They don't make period dramas like these anymore.

Tbh I was kind of disappointed on ep10. Oh and I've a question, when deok im saved lady park how did they get…
Through the tunnel? I was actually wondering how they manage to build that tunnel to the secret fortress without being detected? It must be pretty long since it is shown to be located in the middle of the jungle somewhere far from the city. Its getting weirder.

Thanks. Good explanation. What a beautiful city Nara is. I spend lot of money on my daughter there to feed the deer :-)

🤣 I didn’t even see the preview at the end of ep10 on Viki. It looked like it was cut off. I just wait for…
" I enjoy politics and political intrigues, but with K-dramas they become bizarre very quickly, and usually that sucks out everything I have invested so far in the drama"
Exactly. You put in words why I was disappointed with the sagueks lately. They tend to follow a depressing and predictable formula.
For example, in King's affection, when the king revealed she is a woman to the male lad, I though things will get better for the next few episodes. Less than a quarter episode latter, the politics scheming came back front center and the series went downhill.
I wonder if a period Kdrama could be made like Lincoln the movie. Politics yes, but no backstabbing and all this assasination stuff. I've a feeling the Korean people won't stand for it.

It’s official we’re getting a tragic ending :)))) (Anyway i think that scene on monitor screen was about the…
Aw man... I have always avoided shows with sad endings like the plaque.(I bought Grave of the flies blue-ray years ago and still haven't be able to watch it). I watched the first episode of this series with the intention to stop after that. But the skill of the director and actors have gotten me so to continue. I was still hoping they would do a Disney and stop before the end. Not sure whether to finish this series now.

I also noticed that in most of the historical dramas the first few episodes have a lot of romantic moments or…
Right. More Jane Austen rather than Game of Thrones.
Also the early episodes showed the life of the palace maids in such exquisite detail, it was a pleasure to watch. Together with reading the commentaries from the talking cupboard blog , I was actually learning something new about Joseon era culture.
I believe sageuks can be enjoyable without political scheming , power play etc but I have yet to see one done this way before.

So here's hoping by end of episode 10, Lady Jo and gang , slam bang off to jail . 10 years sentence, with one year remission for good behavior.

You are right, but I dislike plot holes. A bit careless on the writer's part. They could have shown how hilly or difficult the trek is, then it makes sense.

Looks like they have deviated from the drama significantly which means the possibility of happier ending is higher. That is good.

Rewatching again, the kite flying scene is not logical. According to Deok Kim, it takes two hours at running speed to reach the palace from the river bank. Assuming Mama Nim's average jogging speed is 5 kmh, that is at least 10km away. How can the CP see the kite when it so tiny, it will just be a white dot.

I know I am in the minority here but I like the earlier episodes were better because there was more couple time. I hope this rebellion/coup phase gets resolved in 1-2 episodes.

I find the secret organization also interesting. It looks like it’s been there for a long time. Yeah, honestly…
Japaneses invasion of Korea was around1600. King had to flee the palace so I guess they are referring to that period.

I thought it was referring to the part located on his lower anatomy...

There's going to be conflict between these two later on so how could they have left this scene out?
