"We often miss even the things we see".

The World of Silence is an aptly named movie packed with suspense, action, a bit of comedy and a lot of emotional, heartwarming moments. At first, I was a bit sceptical to watch this movie because I mostly love the romance genre but somehow, I just brought myself to watch it and I couldn't stop.

The movie centers itself around a detective trying to solve a case of a serial killer who targets orphaned girls about 12 years of age. There are many suspects including a photographer who recently became the guardian of a young girl.

As the story progresses, the audience is taken on a roller-coaster ride of emotions as there are many twists and turns in the plot. I believe that there could have been more character development and I wish that the plot didn't seem so rushed (hence my score of 8).

Regardless, this is a superb movie and I recommend it to anyone who loves intrigue and mind-boggling plots.

I absolutely loved this drama. It had a little bit of everything for everyone; drama, romance, politics, intrigue and of course, comedy. I really found the acting superb, especially from Lee Bum Soo. At times, I found myself relating with Nam Da Jeong and I adored her clumsiness and her pure heart. This drama will make you laugh and cry but most of all, it teaches us about the complexity of relationships and gives us a sense of hope for finding our one true love no matter the circumstances that brings us together.

How to eat the best ramen?

-Eat it when you're hungry!

For generations, recipes and methods of cooking have been passed down in each household, region and by extension, the country of origin. These dishes and how they are prepared are what makes each of our countries unique and independent.

Le Grand Chef is the story of culinary vengeance, friendship, love and expression of art in cooking. This movie was most definitely a wonderful and touching one, not only to food lovers but to persons who value the true meaning of people in our lives.

This movie will make you laugh, cry and laugh some more!

At heart, what do you treasure most?

Behind every object, every painting and every book there is a story. In Doris’ Café, not only can you sit down drink café lattes or eat delicious éclairs, but you can trade any object, song or story in exchange of another which holds your interest. This beautiful movie depicted the lives of two sisters, Josie and Doris who run a quaint coffee shop in the heart of Taipei. It emphasizes the value we place on objects as well as the stories we share on a daily basis, however, when asked the question, what do we treasure most, the answer lies not in these objects, but the story behind them; the people we encounter and the memories we make.

This movie, though beautiful, was a bit slow at the start but the wonderful scenery and themes surrounding the plot made it a great watch. Next time you purchase something second hand, or receive a hand me down, ask yourself, “What story is behind this object? What memory will I have with it?”

There are two kinds of men in this world; those that cheat and those that say they don't but actually do. Shen Ran is the type 1 kind of guy. He blew his chance with Zixin opting for a one night stand with another woman. Qihong is the type 3 kind of guy, the "Martian". Zixin has to choose between these two men; the man she initially felt so strongly but is afraid that he can not commit and then the very sweet architect who has loved her for 3 years.

I really liked the storyline and the acting was superb. At times I felt the plot a bit dragged and then rushed at the end but I enjoyed the humor and the cute romantic gestures that both Shen Ran and Qihong showed Zixin. The movie was modern and ha a few wow moments for me (I'm an oldfashioned gal) but overall I enjoyed the Hong Kong setting. I also found the movie very similar to Briget Jones diary (love triangle involving boss and some other guy) but still had that uniquity that makes it adorable.
