The story is simpler than what I was expecting. But the experience of watching this made it worth it- brilliant performances (I have to say that Go Kyung Po outdid himself here) and top class direction (Miike as always) . Loved the ambience of this drama through and through. Also, can't get that song out of my head anytime soon 🥲 Very reminiscent of a lot of other works as well- it could be just a 'connection' after all ;)
I wanted to find out about the scar he had, as it had implied perhaps there was a trauma of some sort during his…
They did the scar thing with seo moonjo in strangers from hell too! They didnt really dive deep into his past or childhood but brought the scars to our notice and left it to our interpretation.
I liked the ambiguity and subtlety of their pasts. Just makes them more....... Intriguing.
But yes, there were indeed some other characters who could have been better developed.
Can you believe that ryu joon yeol almost ended up in this lineup 😪 man i was so looking forward to hae in x joon yeol killer combo but nevermind keeping an open mind towards go kyung pyo too 🤞
A movie that stays with you even after it ends- typical of lee sang il's style of movies. Incredible performances by Suzu Hirose and Matsuzaka Tori as usual but Yokohama Ryusei was a delightful surprise. Despite its already long runtime, it could jave been perfected with a longer runtime ( can't believe I'm saying this about a 2 and half hour film).
Quite a daring project dealing with a bold and controversial subject and that's exactly what I love about this film- it makes you question your ideals and understanding of the world and it's variety of peoplepeople and stays with you even after it ends. The aftertaste after the credits start playing 🙌
They are actually talking about season 2, the idea exists, but it's still not official from what I've understood.…
Oh that sounds interesting, concrete utopia's been on my radar because of lee byung hun. But I'm very curious, apart from the massive earthquake and destrucyion aspect how are these two connected? Like they dont share the same screenwriter or director or producer, do they?
