It's open to interpretation. They show two contradicting scenes at the end to let the viewer decide how they want their ending. So just depends if you're the optimist or the pessimist.
Hyun soo or for that matter everybody on that plane could either be dead or alive. The 'reunion' party scene looked too much like a dream sequence to me. However, they did show the aircraft which seemed to have safely landed and the ground staff was approaching the plane which could also mean, they survived. Or maybe the plane landed safely but the virus killed them.
It's in your hands to decide the ending you want ;)

Don't know how to react to the ending.

A keeps-you-on-the-edge kinda thriller. A few more tweaks to the plot and it would have been much better. Impressive nonetheless. Also this gave me what I like to call a *cast-gasm*

What a gripping first episode! The story unfolds in quite a captivating manner, and I'm here for it exactly! Also really nice to see something this folklore-y coming from Japan!!

Oh yes even I was reminded of Kang Jae's job when I read the synopsis ^.^

Loved the village-forest setting. Reminded me of the wailing and bedevilled in that aspect. The suspense and mystery totally worked on me. Overall, story was fine. But it could have been perfect with a little more nuanced script. Nonetheless, i enjoyed this.
