update: it’s now been nearly 5 months since his company announced their “original” series and held a single casting call. There has been no mention of the series since then by either the company or Smart. In that time he hasn’t mentioned any plans to return to acting either.
I wish Smart could leave his company and join Boom as a fixed pairing. They were too great together in Top Form…
He’s not being held hostage by that company. He could easily leave them the same way he abandoned his contractual obligations to WeTV. But he won’t, because he simply doesn’t want that. Remember, he admitted HE CHOSE to jump ship when he COULD have continued on with Boom and Top Form.
It’s a shame that he chose to flush the newly blooming career he had going for him down the toilet the way he did but he made his bed and is clearly content with the decisions he’s made and where he’s at now, so it is what it is where he is concerned. What he did though was selfish and a total disservice to the cast, crew and fans of the series.
unsolicited Episode 1 thoughts: Physics and Fuen have the most interesting plot so far. Not feeling Aof and Chemi. They look mismatched. Chemi looks older than the other guys. The minute they said he was Physic’s YOUNGER brother I logged in here to check if the actor actually was older - he’s not. Also, the teacher is kinda hilarious. Hope he sticks around.

I had high hopes for him after the way he handled creeper Dan earlier in the episode but he just had to go and disappoint me again! I would’ve been less annoyed with him had he just given Big Jane the reassurance he was so desperately seeking at the end.

Yes, the intention of pilot trailers is to gauge interest from audiences, sponsors, producing partners, etc. My issue is more in the fact that this wasn’t a pilot trailer at all but rather a teaser for an undeveloped concept.
This is not much different than WeTV’s “Akina” (now Nour) teaser, which in the end became something else entirely, presumably because they were unable to create a story worth telling from the original concept idea they presented. But who knows, perhaps Domundi will have better luck turning their concept into a script and hopefully they come to their senses about the lead if and when that happens.
What’s going on with these guys? I had issues with the series but thought highly of the actors and was hoping to see all of them in other things. Are the sisters working on a series for any of them? Or is it just concerts going forward?

I share your confusion and made the very same argument myself a few months back - with the exact examples as you did - and I still don’t quite grasp the severity of the issue, but what little I did understand is that it’s apparently a much bigger offense there than it is here in the states to profit off fan fiction where ones likeness is used. I’m only familiar with the official published version of Anna’s After series but if her physical description of Hardin (piercings and whatnot) in that version was in line with his “Harry” counterpart of the original online publishing then I’m guessing that’s where the issue may lie - with the author of Replay using the actors’ likeness full-stop, and as I understood it she was also charging fans for such work. Ultimately I still believe the story is her own regardless of how, what or whom inspired it, but I could also maybe understand why some would take issue with what they see as her profiting off the direct likeness of others.

I’m thinking GMMTV was right in not pursuing an adaptation for this novel back when they did A Boss and a Babe.
