This is SO bad. Every episode feels like a filler episode. Actually, every non-NC scene feels like filler, which I’m sure a large fraction of the audience is probably loving but I just can’t relate if there’s not enough story to balance things out.

With that said, all this now has me curious about the novel and the story there because I’m wondering if the lackluster story onscreen is terrible due to weak storytelling or if there was no real story of substance to be told in the source material. Or if it’s maybe a bit of both.

Just saw on Twitter they're doing a special episode and our second couple is there with Don alive?? Was this planned…
Oh so NOW they want to bring Don back. Honestly, I would’ve respected the creatives more if they had put a freeze on the series as soon as the death episode aired and the well deserved negative feedback started pouring in to retool the remainder of what was set to air. Unprecedented? Sure. But it probably would’ve cost the same if not less than a special episode to go back and film some scenes in order to salvage the final eps of the series and the overall reputation of your series. But then, these are the same creatives who bet it all on Don’s nonsensical death in the first place so I expect clownery.

It’s too late for them to salvage the mess they made, IMO.

in both the kiss scenes and nc scenes I always get the feeling that haejun actually doesn't want to be there.…
This. Sometimes he looks like he wants to laugh, though that could be a nervous tick. It takes me out of the scene but also I can’t really blame him because I’d probably want to run away and/or laugh if I were in this hot mess of a series too.

Maybe they found a plot, dug up characters, and found a way to photograph pot plants and nc scenes together!
Nah, they’re still giving us nothing!

What happened to them ?
Smart defaulted on his contract which resulted in the scrapping of additional TF seasons and the end of his professional relationships with the studio networks and Boom. THAT is what happened. But it should be noted that he is managed by a trash company with a long history of pulling out of things. Just last month they pulled out of a fan event at the last minute and as per usual tried to play the victim. The event promoter was quick to call BS on their lies though and they were even reposting things from Smart’s fans who were understandably upset over the abrupt cancellation and calling on him in their posts to leave that horrible management company before they run his career into the ground. The event promoter reposting those things is telling. But alas, that company has no shame. They’ll keep playing these games until someone sues them into bankruptcy.

It is not the first time that second couple won my fullest attention, but it is definitely the first time I somehow…
They wanted to distract us from the blatant stupidity that was Akin ghosting on his man to the point that they went and made an actual ghost out of Don - who was doing 1/2 of the heavy lifting on the sidelines in making us care about the main duo. Probably thought viewers would be quick to forgive them for it too, much like doormat Than. Miscalculations all around. If nothing else, this series is a prime example of idiots writing idiots.

Our beloved Don is truly dead and gone. The trio of Temu screenwriters who thought killing him off was a genius…
Right? Like there had to be a better plot device to bring the mains back together. Yet somehow between the three of them in the writers room killing Don off was their only way forward. At that point in the series though - ep 7 (or 8) of 10! - the mains still hadn’t worked anything out so I imagine the writers were pressed for time and opted for the most drastic of scenarios possible to move things along for them. In short, the mains plot was not sound and poorly structured and using Don as a casualty of their inept screenwriting was a cheap and lazy move seemingly for no other reason than to bring the mains story up to speed in the eleventh hour.

This is probably the first series I’ve ever watched that somehow managed to make me hate the main characters…
It’s wild because as tiring as the main characters/couple were the secondary characters/couple made their overly redundant miscommunication nonsense of a “story” bearable. The second couple was a necessary buffer. I lost any and all interest I had in the mains story when that buffer was torched. And I had genuine interest built up for them until Don-gate as I’m not one to FF through episodes to bypass everything I’m not into. If I’m tuning into a series my investment is for the series as a whole, not bits and pieces of it. But that’s just me.

Story wise, I can’t imagine many would’ve stuck around for the mains merry-go-round to nowhere every week had it just been them. If their issue was resolved within the first few episodes, sure, but they didn’t work their ish out until the very end! They literally spent 99% of the series in a standstill. It was the secondary characters/couple who kept the mains largely non-moving story afloat week after week.

Don gang - I watched so you don’t have to…
Our beloved Don is truly dead and gone.

The trio of Temu screenwriters who thought killing him off was a genius idea made sure to go out rubbing salt in our wounds one last time by making poor Pond dance with Don’s ghost, at the main couple’s wedding no less. The audacity. GOODBYE.

RIP Don 🙏
