This was the first thai bl I've ever watched love this thran and type all of them actually are so cute I love…
It was the 2nd one I watched but I agree with everything you said! I was annoyed by his hot headedness at first but after awhile I found it and him more endearing than not lol
The HIV bit was shocking but in good way so I was more than a little disappointing to see it get wrapped up and swept under the rug which such quickness. I think that storyline could've made for a really great subplot had it been given the time it deserved to be explored.
And am I nuts or were they totally paving the way for Pure/Waan in the beginning? I liked their friendship more but even that build up seemed to disappear in the latter half to where it felt like they were barely even friends at all!
So yeah... a directionless series of missed opportunities and poor executions this is.
Mild really dull as far ? He's cute I guess but doesn't really have much going for him in terms of character?…
I just can't with wallpaper-like characters fronting series - it's not enough to just be cute and that certainly shouldn't be the only thing you are! I can't root for that. It's lead character giving background character energy. He stays giving us nothing!
I'm with you on the friends and I too am fond of those tropes! Hopefully we see some progress with them. It's kinda sad yet also speaks volumes that all we've really seen them do together is eat and they're still a more intriguing duo than Knight/Mild 🤣
Is this a spinoff of another series or a pre-established universe? I get the sense I should already be familiar…
update: now that I've caught up to ep 6..
Knight and Mud(?) fighting has gotten old and that rape allegation was a weird pivot. So not the way to make the dull pair interesting! Surely it'll turn out to be some unfounded misunderstanding of epic proportions (right?!) but jokes on them because Knight comes across as a bit of a creep either way!
Meanwhile Mid Mild's personality is now giving me whiplash. I was taken aback when he told off Knight's FWB because it felt wildly out of character for him to do so. Like who inhabited his body in that moment and where was that energy and personality hiding?
Per/Kan are still hilarious and charming. They are definitely carrying this series.

In any case... Per/Kan > Knight/Mild
I only just finished episode 3 so it's still early enough for my mind to change but so far the Mild character (and Knight by extension) is fast-forward worthy dull. What does Knight even see in him?!
Per/Kan are hilarious though! They've single-handedly made these first few episodes worth watching for me. Heck, even Tim/Klah are more interesting than Knight/Mild and they've had little to no screen time!
So I jumped right into Love in Translation after finishing Century of Love recently and was caught off guard by how different he looks in both of those roles. I almost can't believe it's the same guy!
This series is way too good (so far) for its visuals to be wasted on a low-end streaming platform like Tencent. How the heck did WeTV end up with the exclusive on this when iQ exists? KP is still a high performing series for the latter so it seems crazy to think they wouldn't have wanted this for their platform. Unless BOC's deal with WeTV had been locked in from the OG concept pitch? I could understand iQ passing on that version. But this? No way!
In any case... these streaming services need to up their quality game and invest more into the overall functionality of their apps. Maybe I'm spoiled but 1080p is not cutting it for me if the option for 4K is available and most of the apps - particularly those for TV (Apple TV, Roku, etc) - are so badly built they can't even do basic things like 'add to watch list' (Tencent) or edit the appearance of subtitles (iQ) or even remember where you left off (Viki) 😭
That's your opinion, many others liked.Don't get the need to come announce something if you disliked the series.…
The original comment wasn't the least bit hateful though. I get wanting to defend your favorite series but pick your battles.
You're not respectful of other positions, as evidenced by your handful of replies as of late. You preach for people to 'ignore & move on' if they don't like something yet absolve yourself from doing the same. So yeah, the hypocrisy is blinding.
If you think my pointing out the obvious to you is an investment of any kind then so be it. Hopefully we'll have a better love story than Khanin + Charan 💕
So glad I stumbled upon it.
Hopefully a positive sign then.

I'm done complaining.
Is it Saturday yet? 🤣
