I forgot to mention about a scene that we see in the spoilers of the new episodes released today was LY was forced by SJH to admit publicly that he used his power to kill, rape and oppress people or else SJH would chop ZM & his brothers hands off. LY’s army is very loyal to him as they knew that he was framed by SJH & young emperor Chen and they decided to rebel, hence LY had to speak to his men to defend the country and be loyal to young emperor Chen. In the novel, ZM & brother did not attack RJ so she & SJH were not aware of LY’s plan. They thought he was dead by the poison. When he unexpectedly returned from the battle with chen, she was like wait was he not dead yet, kind of like the mama empress saying in one the episodes why did you not die LOL.

RJ & HJH deserve each other. They will get what deserve at the end. I wanted to punch them with their evil plan of deceiving people & killing innocents to get her to the empress position after reading the novel. I understand that she was not being taken care of by the old emperor when her mother got killed by the dowager empress, that she has resentment that her father does not think that she deserves the empress position but her younger brother Chen. She did not even pull her fingers out when her father rushed back to the palace tryong to save LY from his mother’s evil plan. RJ knew that her father took the poisoned wine given to LY by the dowager empress. She was there waiting for her father to die and then called in SJH to kill the mama empress & set fire in the palace and destroying all the evidences with a view to putting all the blame on LY. She did not even care about her own father let alone her half brothers. She does not even show any love to SJH during the whole time but only towards the end when both of them got exposed and killed themselves.

Chen telling MZH that she needs to bring real evidence was part of LY’s plan to falsely accuse LY and put him through death penalty with a view to exposing crazy RJ’s whole plot. In the novel, young Chen was so moved by MZH’s honesty, begging and also to some extent trust for his uncle that he did pardon LY by giving MZH the token so that she could go to prison and save LY from death penalty. Young Chen was about to give in and wanted to tell MZH about their plan but couldn’t.

They have slightly changed the plot in the drama in comparison with the novel. In the novel, dowager empress got killed by SJH under the order of princess RJ the night the old emperor died from poison. SJH set fire in the palace and burnt both the dowager empress, emperor bodies and killed hundreds of servants. She does not show any love to SJH until the end when their plot of making princess RJ the empress got exposed by LY ( lord Ding) and they had no where to go and decided to kill themselves towards. Until then, I wanted to punch the both of them and curse so bad as they were pretty ruthless towards LY and everyone else. The whole soft talk of the princess is just a effing show, pardon my French. Young emperor Chen is completely blind listening to the effing SJH the entire time until LY told Chen the whole truth about what happens that night when the old emperor & mama empress died. He told young Chen that he suspected princess RJ the mastermind behind SJH’s actions. LY came up with the plan with SJH of abusing power, killed innocents and being a complete jackass vis-a-vis his own subjects. He even gave young Chen the fake poison pill to fake his death but was not sure whether young Chen would go along his plan as Chen was still angry about the death of his father. LY did not even tell MZH of his plan with a view to exposing both SJH & the princess. I cried a river when MZH came to the prison to save LY from death penalty but it was too late. Effing SJH was so happy as he thought he really LY before he starts investigating into their dirty businesses. ZM & his. Brother know of LY’s plan and changed the body in the coffins and chose someone that looked very alike lord Ding. Phew, he survived and came back with a big bang by assisting young Chen win the battle against the northern army. Princess RJ was playing dumb in front of young Chen & LY until LY told her that SJH was acting under her orders. Princess RJ planned everything even having a freaking army & servants put in place around the palace. She took advantage of the opportunity that LY’s army was tired , injured a father the battle to take control over the palace & retained LY’s army outside of the gate. Luckily, LY ain’t stupid, he asked MZH to bring the old respected princess (LY’s aunt) to stop crazy RJ. The old princess took care of RJ after the death of her mum. When both RJ & HJh got exposed, SJH decided to kill himself first and then RJ joined him.

In the novel, he survived and it was really heartbreaking when MZH thought that he died despite the fact the young emperor decided to pardon him after MZH begged the young emperor. I wanted to punch SJH & the princess RJ as they were pretty ruthless in the novel. MZH fell into coma for 3 days after this dramatic turn of event and she has been informed by Zhimo that LY is still alive and that was part of the plot to expose princess RJ & SJH. When the soldiers of the north was about to invade the south. The young emperor Chen decided to defend his own country as the majority of the army was resentful that he gave order to kill LY ( their general). LY came to rescue of Chen’s army by attacking the head of the northern army ( the guy that came to visit the south and offered his sister to marry LY, I can’t remember his name so sorry for that). Both uncle & nephew joined hands to defend and won the battle against the north. SJH was captured by the people that supported the noble families whom SJH wanted to destroy just to aliénante the noble families against LC ( Liu Chen). Whilst LY was fighting, princess RJ got herself declared by the noble families empress should LC die in battles. When the noble tried to flee the city, she purposely stayed behind to keep the throne . To her surprise when the soldiers announced that LC & the army won the battle , she saw the return of LY with LC. She initially planned to blow the northern army’s inventories up & their army. Back to the palace LY, LC have started to confront SJH in front of princess RJ. She has been silent the whole process until LY exposed her and she started to pull her cards with all the servants & soldiers she & SJH put in place over the years. Her people started to attack LC & LY but unfortunately LY ain’t stupid so he sent MZH go & bring back the eldest princess (LY’s aunt) that took care of princess RJ after her mum died. She intervened by bringing the supreme prefer aka “sword” with LY’s army No one dares to rebel but SJH took the sword and killed himself. Princess RJ then used the same sword to kill hereof as she knows that her days are numbered even the eldest princess offered her to take her back to their palace and live there peacefully. LY & MZH are set to go the north to negotiate peace treaty with the north becoming the protectorate of the south. LY & MZH have also decided to move their to help with the governance, exchange of trading systems between the north & south. The northerners ended up living the couple. They even write to the emperor to let them get married and still work as officials. Our couple will return to the capital, married and have a son and continue their official works. The end.

In the novel, LY & the emperor have planned LY’s fake death to expose the traitors (princess RJ & SJH). LY did not tell MZH of his plan & he was not even sure whether the young emperor would go along with his plan by giving him the fake poison pill). Before carrying out this plan, LY told the young emperor the truth about the night when the emperor died by taking the poison that his own mother intended to give to LY & he told the young emperor that he left the palace well before the fire started at the palace & killed both the emperor and the dowager empress. The young emperor was very upset with LY at that point and have told the young emperor of his suspicions of princess RJ & SJH.

Yes, it is unfortunate that because of his love for her that he is carrying out the evil plots against LY, the young emperor (first prince).

Having read 70% of the novel, he will be a super villain manipulating & killing people for the princess RJ to ascend the throne. Princess RJ does not show any love for him but she kind of does at the end when it is too late for the both of them.

It was the Empress (Emperor’s mother) that killed her own son by accidentY. The Empress wanted to kill LY by putting poison into his wine. The emperor found out about her intention to kill his younger brother LY so he came back at the palace on time. He begged her in front of LY to let his younger brother go but she refused. The emperor apologised to LY on her behalf by drinking the poisoned wine with LY . The emperor died from it and luckily LY did not drink too much. The Empress explained the reason why she wanted LY dead. She told the emperor & LY that LY’s mother (concubine Yu) stole her husband, that he married her as an empress (she came from an aristocracy family) and he never considered her as his wife but he loved LY’s mother. When LY’s mum died, the emperor grandfather lost the will to live and died soon afterwards. Before his death he made her (the empress grandmother) to take care of LY. Hence, all the resentments were towards LY. The emperor died in her arms and she threw LY out of the palace. Princess RJ was there all along, witnessing what the empress did to LY & her father. Princess RJ confronted her on her parents’ death and her plot using Xue Xiaotang ( her fiancé) to kill LY. . The empress was enraged and tried to physically attack RJ and before she even tried it, Sheng killed her with his sword and set fire in the palace. Back at his house, LY was vomiting blood and MZH is treating him. Before his death, the late emperor was contemplating about appointing the second prince as emperor given that he was calmer than the first prince. He has changed his view on the second prince as he was always using his twin brother (3rd prince) to fight against the 1st prince. Princess RJ, has tried to drive a wedge between the brothers by changing the late emperor’s real edict which should allow the 1st prince ascension to the throne. I’m still reading the novel as I go along.

I love your summary. I find the 1st prince falling for MZH. According to the novel, the first prince will fall for MZH but there is only one person in her eyes and that is LY (LD). He will become the emperor before the collusion of the princess RJ & SJH with the enemies to overthrow the young emperor Chen (1st prince). Both the princess & SjH will be executed but MZH still feels sorry for the princess. The young emperor will marry a young girl with modest background. They will have 2 children. MZH and LY will become famous officials in one of the provinces, will get married despite the roadblocks laid out by the officials. The court officials in the end had to give in and let them get married and still remain officials. Our couple have a son. The kingdom lives peacefully and in prosperity.

I forgot to mention that after Jing & XY wedding, Jing still let his son to be the clan leader with the help of the elders to teach him. Jing & XY head off to travel around the world and live a care free life which I think both of them have always wanted really.

Please note that Jing was attacked by Hou & his guards were killed by CX’s guards just before his marriage to XY. After Jing’s disappearance there had been some discussions between the elders of the Tung Shang clan of whom would become the leader of the clan as everybody knew that his son was not his but Hou’s son. It was XY that pleaded to the elders of Jing’s clan to let his son become the leader since Jing had been raising him as his own child and the boy has lots of Jing’s good characters. A few years have passed and XY was in depression and CX had spent quite a lot of time cheering her up. XY was herself a victim of a tentative of assassination by Xing Yue who invited XY to the lanterns event up the mountains. Xing Yue pushed XY from the edge of the mountains and blamed it on one of the consorts. XY survived and confronted Xing Yue about her plot of killing XY. Xing Yue told XY the reason why she wanted to kill XY which was XY has alway been the only person that CX ever loves and that he would drop everything even the country’s affairs to spend time with XY. Not even her as his empress, nor the other consorts would dare walk alongside him but XY. CX overheard the conversation between Xing Yue & XY and was very upset. CX would ban her to her palace and would ignore her ever since. FL came to visit XY and told her that he did help his sister Xing Yue to kill XY and apologised to XY. He also begged XY to plead with CX to protect his sister whilst he was gone to the battlefield to fight XL’s army. He asked XY as to why she never told CX about his involvement in her attempted assassination even though XY knew? XY told him that because she walked out on him on their wedding day and that was her way of apologising and giving back for the harm that she had caused him. FL also explained to XY that he chose to a very difficult fight against XL’s army and was not quite sure whether he would survive but wanted XY to promise him that she would plead CX of protecting his sister and letting her remain his empress. He also told XY that he was just a normal guy with no talent and his ascension to where he is now is thanks to Jing. Jing was his great friend since childhood and and Jing was the one that advised him to advise CY to move from Xuan Yuan to the mountains ( I can’t remember the name now sorry) and that was the trigger to CX’s ascension to the throne. It was Jing that provided all the financial support to his & CX’s army over the years and apologised to XY that he took all the credit that Jing had done not only for him and CX. He told XY that Jing had always been behind the scenes without CX and XY knowing. CX overheard of FL’s conversation with XY and was in shock. It was that moment that FL was attacked by an arrow from XL. Before FL’s death, XY asked CX to promise to FL that he would let Xing Yue remain his empress and protect her from the court’s politics which CX did. CX did have some remorse about helping Hou kill Jing. After FL’s death, XY went to see XL and confronted him on this and that was when XL pushed XY into questioning about the only powerful person that XY would never doubt that had the capacity to help Hou kill Jing. They had a big argument and she told that she never wanted to see XL again in her life. After the argument, she started investigating Jing’s death and asked her grandfather whether CX was involved in Jing’s death but her grandfather tried to avoid the conversation. When CX admitted to XY that he was involved in Jing’s death and she tried to kill herself, CX brought her to the mountains to be saved by that godmother as explained before. XL saved XY’s life again before he disappeared from her life forever. XY woke up, still very sad about Jing’s death and CX’s betrayal she then told the mountains’ godmother that she wanted to replace her as the godmother’s life end was near. The rule of being the mountains’ godmother means she can’t get married and will have live a lonely life in that mountains forever. When CX came back to bring XY back as he did not know that XY woke up, he found out that XY was going to be the mountains godmother. CX begged XY to not do it and promised her to leave her free. XY was still very cold with CX and rejected his pleadings and told him that she wanted to leave in peace in the mountains. On the inauguration day, the old godmother was about to hand over her power to XY, here came Jing pleading her not to become the mountains godmother but that XY promised him to marry him. XY was shocked and could not believe her eyes and thought she was dreaming but phew it was the real Jing. In the end, CX accepted that XY would marry Jing which they did and reconciled with XY. CX thought to himself that he has everything, the power, the whole world but she has lost XY, the only person that he longs for forever. I hope I don’t bore you too much.

I may also add that Hou also poisoned his own son with Fang Fei. She used this opportunity to lure Jing back to kill Hou & herself in the same process. Whilst Jing knows that the boy is not his but Hou’s son, he still cares the boy as his own son and came back. Hou fought against Jing even though he wasn’t hurt by Fang Fei with an arrow. Before Hou & herself were killed by the arrow Hou still had some strength to kick Jing in the sea. Jing fainted & fell in the deep sea and disappear for a few years. XY learnt about Jing’s attack by his brother was distraught after launching a research for Jing. Jing was then saved by the mermaids. It was XL that told XY about the involvement of CX in the killing of Jing as Jing kept tap of Hou’s every move . In addition, XL has been doing business with Jing’s clan for a long time and would never attack his guards as they are experienced bodyguards. He kind of told XY that given that Hou was banned from Tung Shan clan, had no means to attack Jin and the only powerful person that was able to have the means & guards to kill all of Jing’s guards was CX. XY confronted CX about his involvement in the killing of Jing and CX admitted. XY was so pissed that she tried to launch some arrows on CX and he dodged them all. He told his guards to not dare kill XY. XY later poisoned herself & CX but she did not have the heart to give a big dose of poison to CX but herself. XY nearly died of her own poison. CX worked up & brought XY back to the mountains when she was young & where they were separated so that she could be saved by that lady that helped her transform back to being a woman again. Unfortunately, that lady was old & nearing her end of life so couldn’t save XY. It was XL that came back to save XY and XY had to harm himself to get rid of the love bug and saved XY. XL asked the guard that cared for XY to not tell anyone about his help and that was the last time that XL ever saw XY. I forgot to mention that XY had a big argument with XL when she confronted him over his killing of Feng Long and she told him that she did not want to see ever again after giving him her blood. Please note that these events occurred after Jing’s so called death. It was a sad ending for XL as CX’s army attacked him and his army. XL died and XY only learnt of his death through the discussion of the soldiers in a restaurant.

Non, the baby is Jing’s older brother Hou as Fang Fei has been sleeping with Hou from the beginning. She & Hou have concocted the evil plan so the child could inherit the fortune from the clan if I am not mistaken.

The saddest part for me was after XY & Jing got married, XY did ask CX to spare Xiang Liu’s life but given that Xiang Liu killed Feng Long, CX had no other option but avenge his friend’s death vis-a-vis Feng Long’s clan. It is all about politics. XY had to learn about his death through soldiers that had a meal at a restaurant where she & Jing happened to be there. Since the love bug was removed by Xiang Liu himself to save XY when she tried to kill herself after she learnt that CX was involved in the killing of Jing by his brother Hou. With the love bug being removed from Xiang Liu’s body, she could not feel anything when this happened. It was sad because Xiang Liu did save XY’s life many times but yet was not in the position to do the same for him.

My recollection is that he died in battlefield against CX’s army if I am not mistaken.

The family left him.
