She also likes a son she did not give birth to, but who grew up in front of her. Then why not her own blood? Its not as if she liked ML before the death of her husband, she always disliked him.
And if she likes her adopted son, why does ML's adoptive family hate him?

No this director shouldn't do directing as such. Even cute rom coms or melo drama needs to be of good quality. Like the director who directed When I fly towards you, and then directed Love Between Lines. Both excellent works.
Or the same screenwriter for Hidden Love and The First Frost.

In fact for me even budget isn't a issue, its possible if you have less budget. But this is a S+ drama? Also weird editing has nothing to do with budget, its just lazy work.
This director should consider change of career.

Its a disaster. Many people who watched Princess Gambit first, though Meng Ziyi is the worst. I am not a fan of her either, but if you see Blossom (POJ director), she was not that bad there.
Even now people are criticizing Churan and especially ZLH's acting in X, its on the director, because they have had good dramas before.

Its like this director is hell bent on ruining people's careers.

ZLH got the chance of working with the best and the worst directors in the same year. Like what was I even expecting, this director directed The Princess Gambit ahh.

Yes and ZLH got confirmed months back, its the female lead they are not able to find. I am so scared. Actually currently I am glad some of the actresses I liked who were rumoured to be the part of Ci Tang rejected it or got rejected themselves. Thank God for that.
Churan's next with this director is just not Republican. Its actually kind of fantasy, its set in different eras- Historical, Republican, even Modern.

No question of dropping, honestly I will tell you, there is a difference between fact or an honest opinion, and something I like. I agree the drama has problems, but that doesn't stop me from liking it, I am hooked. Honestly there are plenty of dramas I have watched which people have trashed, even I know the drama has problems, but I have loved it. My taste sucks, and I am blind, I agree. I don't care, I will watch anything that I like, no rating or stupid director or controversy can stop me.

But our boy completed football in 2022, honestly I thought that was his last worldcup. The fact that he came, played and even the team got to the finals, is a big thing. That's our consolation.

My two cents

Pros as per me-
The flashbacks are done well, the way they fell for each other, extremely well. The costumes excellent, the beauty mind blowing. I also like the acting of the leads, ML's brother. People saying plot is a mess, yes it is. Republican dramas' plots are always a mess. I am up for the angst and I am loving it at the moment. Also the chemistry is beautiful, there was sweetness in flashbacks, there is tension now.

Cons as per me-
I am not saying anything about AI, thousands of people have already said a lot. But the editing is really poor, it gets very bright at times, and sometimes very blurred. Some scenes happen in 2 seconds like the entire diving into pond sequence. A person in X shared many Reuters videos and the actual scenes from the drama, and its so weird that fan cams and reuters are way better than the scenes. The weird zoom ins are trash. So the entire problem is with the cameramen, editors and director who did not manage it properly. The drama is high budget but the director managed to make it look cheap. He should stop directing as of now.

I don't dislike the drama, but currently in episode 5, for me the pros are less than the cons. I love Churan so much, and I extremely sad that she is filming another drama with this director, also Chen Zheyuan? Oh my God, I was so excited for that drama. And Linghe, run, I am telling you run. Don't do Ci Tang with this director.

But should you drop it? I think NO. Every drama needs time to blend properly, to make you aware. Watch and decide for yourself. For me, I will not drop. Even if there are cons, Churan's face is the
biggest thing that keeps me here. But despite everything, I am still hooked into the drama.

Honestly I just told Nick, I can never give up on a Churan drama😆😭
