Ofcourse, i am also one among thousands of people who is enjoying this show right now,.........But,1. It is cliche…
My dear Statement 2 is applicable to almost all these dramas. In my 20+ years of watching dramas, this one remains a puzzle with a missing piece. Don't know, I would like a little romance and how the opposite attract play out. I think they could complement eachother well.
Even when the drama is ML-centric, it still ends up being all about feminism and womenβs empowerment, making…
Hmmm, Are they people who jumped on the ex's side from the get go π€ Cause the comments I read were of rational people. But then agai , I have not read all comments. Btw, I for 1, was never on anyone's side from the get go. And was more curious about their relationship, marriage and what led to the divorce. But now, I'm definitely Team Lawyer Yun. Ex-wife pretty much burned the (maybe) bridge in this ep. She was ruthless.
Yooo...this is how you do a legal drama...Kang Hyo Min you are the Best, PERIOD!β£οΈ Her comebacks are always Mic drop and boi don't I love it. π I bawled my eyes out un this episode... The sec. that douche copycat thief opened his mouth, I knew he was full of BS. Not only does he need to compensate (I mean every penny he has), he needs to go to prison plus have his name and face plastered in every art article or bulletin as an example. People like him are ingrates. And also, that Law firm should take a bullet too for constantly representing fraudsters. Nothing anyone can say will make me like Lawyer Yun's ex-wife. She is such a mean person. When she was spouting whatever she had in mind I couldn't help thinking of the common saying "It's not what you say but how you say it". Would it have killed her to be compassionate in her explanations (which now I don't buy). I'm inclined to believe that she is still bitter cause he initiated the divorce not her. I wouldn't put it past her that she deliberately went for their friend. See what she now makes me think of her....tsk tsk π
Yo who is unhappy with cooking scenes π€£π€£π€£πππ Am I missing something here in the world of comments. I for 1 felt seen, in that ep. Being a rubbish cook myself and once attempted to make fried rice for my ex. and ended up with what looked like rice porridge with a couple of swimming onions and tomatoes...Well, he is my ex... now π€£
The cinematography of the war scenes in episode 20th is superb. They reminded me of The Lord of the Rings π
I really enjoyed the fight scenes too, more than I thought I would. So far tbh, I've been watching purely for the romance but those fight scenes were really good.
So watching little snippets on YouTube (yeah thanx for spoilers), it appears Chu Zhao is gonna be a pain in the a** down the line. He will interfere on our lovebirds and use the Emperor to break them up. In turn he asks to marry He Yan π€¬π€¬ Here is my problem with CZ and his so called love...it's not genuine, Why? Because he sees his dead mother in He Yan. His liking towards her is merely because she sometimes by pure coincidence say stuff that reminds him of his mother. Like I have a problem with guys like this...."oh she reminds of my mother" oh I love how her personality is like my mother etc....bullshit. Like, sir go marry your mother then π€·ββοΈ. Its very creepy and disgusting. Secondly, I don't buy his love for her because his revenge is too deep that given the choice to choose He Yan and forgo revenge, he will NOT accept that in a heartbeat. So how can he claim to love her. Plus does this guy (and many other obsessed 2nd leads in dramas) know what love is... cause if he did, he will know what He Yan wants and thats not HIM. Also, he will know that his maid who is constantly googly eyeing him loves him...albert very very much. Part of me also kinda side-eye He Yan who I think kind of gave him hope. One time I think He yan is quick in the uptake to know CZ obviously likes him or better yet a little about romance and then other times I think she is clue less....aaah writers. I'm still entertained btw...just SMH and keeping moving. P.S. I saw AvenueX commentary of this drama and I agree with everything and yet here I am, loving this drama still π
Anyone else screaming at these 2 to jus KISS already....or is it just me only...Ok I mean, they have been flirting every chance they get so let's seal the deal, shall we...kissi-he! kissi-he!π just remembered the S.korean way of chanting when they urge a couple to kiss.
I feel bad for Seok Hoon but not as bad as the drama seems to want me too. His ex-wife's only sin that we've seen…
Hmmmm, I agree to an extent but then, it is unfair that she gets to all things for herself etc and don't even sit down with her ex and iron things out. I do think that she owes him a sit down and let's talk at least. Because the way Lawyer Yun has been presenting, seems like the end of their marriage affected him a lot more. And for all we know he could be going through guilt, self hate etc and mostly thinking he is the reason why they broke up, he was not a good husb.. he is not worthy to be a father etc.. all kinds of things the brain tricks us into. So I believe his remedy should come from her who has moved on, to have a word and liberate him from this psychological trauma. I am a therapust and I would recommend my client that too if I had a case like this. P.S. a while back I watched a drama that had a plot a little like this. Basically ML had a galfriend and one time he got hold up at work and girlfriend waited for him at night until late. Then on her way home she was gang- r****d. And this incident affected her so much as well as him and eventually they broke up. ML never forgot that and he suffered psychologically from that incident. You can say, time stopped from that day. About 8 years later, he meets his ex galfriend by chance. Again he wanted to run away at first cause of guilt etc but she asked for a word. They sat fown and she pretty much comforted him and liberated him from the guilt. She also reassured him that she had moved on. Which was actually true cause her daughter and husband came to pick her up and they all seemed happy. From then on ML became better and went on to have a happy life.
Gosh, this one hits hard...Any harm to a child is unforgivable. These little angels should be protected not harmed. I'm so happy that this ep. drew out a little detail that is often forgotten in cases of domestic violence. Sadly, sometimes it takes a while before you can pull the victims out and during that time, you know they are suffering more abuse. And yet, you have to put that painful feeling aside and stay focused to help them out eventually. Therefore as much as our instincts tell us to pull them out right away, sometimes you can't. At times you have to work with the perpetrator and coach your victim to stay the same and not hint of any changes. It is such an emotionally draining job (rewarding in the end, yes) hence why I quit. Omg Hyo min in love is like a typhoon..hahaha. It's like the feelings are just bubbling out and can't wait to see how it will affect her work next ep. Though I gotta say, I kinda miss the disorganised but very sharp Hyo min they introduced us in 1st eps. I'm struggling to like Lawyer Yun's ex wife. Of all the man, why oh why, would you go for your friend, also your ex's friend....aaaah....stress
I understand many people have mixed feelings about this drama and I for 1 really enjoyed the beginning until somewhere in the middle. At first it felt fresh, slow and just gave this healing feeling (I mean food heals a lot of wounds, you'll). But I guess somewhere down the line I began to wonder, what exactly is this drama's message or angle. Guess you can say the plot stopped plotting for me. All our main characters were great but none made me want to jump from my seat to pay attention to. And the most I guess bizarre character was the rich lady and owner of the Building. She felt like AI or an NPC that I found most of her actions very far from reality in this day and age. Alas this drama gives me the feeling I get when I eat my favourite Yoghurt every day...it starts to put me off and doesn't taste the same anymore= this drama. Anywho, it's done now and I'm many people enjoyed it too. It just lost me somewhere I guess.
From the pro-choice camp. It's ultimately her choice but I think it's also something she should have talked to…
I really like your perspective and in that 1st parag. Its seems the main issue was the decision she made but not communicating to the one she loved and married. "I don't think Yun was the problem, just the timing, which IMO is completely valid" this statement right here is very profound. My question though is, we may know/think this but does Lawyer Yun also thinks this. This is where it gets tricky cause maybe this poor guy spend years thinking, I caused this, it's my fault, I pushed her into this.... All this will seriously affect tour mental wellbeing and nowonder the guys always look constipated. So if their marriage ended without proper COMMUNICATION....hmmmm I would say, its more unfair to himπ€ π P.S. Love a male pov on this so thanks.

Thanks for that link, very interesting. Just reminds recently a friend of mine said if she were to get pregnant right now, she will immediately abort and no questions asked. And her reason was not that she hates kids or never wants them it's that for now, she doesn't cause she hasn't had her ish together, mentally, financially, environmentally etc. So like you said, people sometimes forget that there are so many factor that could lead to someone making that decision. Yeah I hope the drama handles this one sensitively. Ideally, I would want to see the exes meet and she explain that actually her decisions have got nothing to do with him so she can continue with her happy path and release him for maybe guilt, self doubt or hate from thinking he was the cause.
Now this is CHEMISTRY....and I'm melting over here π π₯° Once I got over the everyone-is gender-blind issue, I'm all in for this drama and thanks to Zhou Ye to make me LOL every chance she gets...like for real πππ. So safe to say, we have a love triangle, which I'm not worried about cause our ML character is delicious looking...like man he's hot. Those eyes, aaah...my β€οΈ Plus, he is the protagonist so the plot amour is on his side. I actually like Chu Zhao, he is cute but I don't get him. What would have been fun is if he and his sidekick who seems to have the hots for him join hands with our main duo and kick bu*** to the real villains. Cause so far I'm failing to understand why the vengeance, what happened to him and why target someone who seems to have been involved at all π€ππ€¨
I think wholeheartedly being in agreement to not have a child, or at least not try for a child is pretty common,…
You're absolutely right. A couple may start on the same page and then one might change or one might not have been on that same page wholeheartedly to begin with. But im this case, I think it was more of a communication either not deep enough or broken. For instance, these 2 could have explored the what ifs way earlier so when it happens the would handle it better. Or better yet, the wife should have at least clued him on what's what before handling it herself. My question thougb would be, is it because she didn't want to or didn't want to with him given that last scene. Regardless, I think of the psychological impact it will have to the one ex.
