Nothing…… so I felt the only logical way out here is time… some time needs to past. Maybe not 5 yrs….…
Oh yes I’ve read this before. There was also something about HBY rebiting CSS’s arm just b4 the above scene. I was commenting that that was somethIng I don’t think the more gentle drama version of HBY wld do.
Also, maybe novel version of CSS had suffered much more and hence had more serious abandonment issues. I always find this point very weak esp when you compare the trauma that the young HBY had gone through. CSS still has her loving family. She was technically never abandoned!
The part in the novel you’ve quoted about building an ice wall that surrounds her heart it’s not very convincing too seeing how she was so happy with LY and so willing to marry him. I don’t think therefore that her capacity to forgive him shd be so limited. It’s not like she walked in on him in bed with another woman and finding out he’s never loved her and was only toying with her feelings. Hey all this near perfect boyfriend who dotes on her did was to avenge the death of his whole family and clan, the massacre of which he witnessed first hand as a child and the images of which literally haunts him his entire life plus the dying wish of his only kin to a take revenge and spending his entire life and energy planning and plotting the revenge only to have his last hope (Pengkuin) killed. I mean if you compare what they’ve been through it’s like cotton candy vs hell.
Nothing…… so I felt the only logical way out here is time… some time needs to past. Maybe not 5 yrs….…
I know what you mean about doing something out of the ordinary, out of his comfort zone but maybe crying and begging for forgiveness is not too off for him. He’s cried b4 her when Penkuin was killed and was almost about to tell her the truth about himself…he knelt b4 CSS’ parents and apologised sincerely, he apologised to CSS too just b4 he leapt off the cliff.
So kneeling and grovelling may be something easier for him to do than punishing himself by forbidding himself to reconcile with her. Im sure nothing is more painful for him than that. It was the ultimate punishment and a befitting one - tit for tat.
And there was a difference in the way he approach war. He fought wars with the intention to kill himself but yet he found that to be too easy on himself that he ought to live to suffer the painful consequences of being apart from her.
The action of kneeling and grovelling is merely an action. It’s the deep rooted intentions and emotions that count. And in that respect I think HBY more than qualify but the only problem is is whether CSS get to know about all his thoughts and feelings and all the behind the scenes stuff he’s been doing for her and what he’s been doing to himself. That’s the part im not satisfied with. Did she for example know that AhQi has been protecting her all this while?
I kind of glossed over this scene. I should rewatch it again. In the drama. All of the above you mentioned. CSS…
😫😩😭😭 CSS wanted LJT and HBY to be together??!!! Noooooo…… how can that be?? The fact that she’s no jealous of LJT already bothers me to bits… that means at that point in time she has Zero love left for HBY! How can her love possibly be rekindled from 0 to 100% like overnight?!
Hahah I know what you mean! CSS was truly momentarily at a loss. Yes she’s incredibly creative and intelligent…
I suspect 90-95% of the complaints here about LLTG is linked to the cutting down of the drama by 10 episodes. The Producers shd take note of this and salvage the situation! 😁
So finally I get to the eps where everybody seems to be complaining, and yes now I'm with them lol it's hella…
Hahah I know what you mean! CSS was truly momentarily at a loss. Yes she’s incredibly creative and intelligent but hell when you’re heavily outnumbered you are heavily outnumbered! And the worst part is throughout these scenes of her looking helpless and on the verge of her demise fighting a losing battle, the drama cuts over to concurrent HBY scenes where he and the bad guy are taking their own sweet time chitchatting and of all things about how HBY has absolute faith in his NN handling the disastrous situation over at Guo Village! 😆😆
You know that scene where LJT visited the Empress & CSS after 5 years ….when she started to boast about her close relationship with HBY…. What was that reaction on CSS’s face? Shock? Jealousy? Annoyance? Displeasure?
I remember when I watched that scene my immediate reaction was “Surely you don’t believe LJT’s words right?” I think I reacted that way because of how the episodes were condensed… until that point we’ve only seen a very cold CSS going about her daily life with matters concerning the Empress and her palace for 5 years. There were no hints about how she’s been feeling vis-à-vis HBY during this long stretch of time. It’s almost like she’s forgotten about him hence her reaction towards LJT’s delusional romance is not immediately obvious to me. Any thoughts anyone?
He really is refusing to break character and it's so funny. No wonder at the Bulgari, he was like this is me dressing…
Oooooo…….I’m sure he’s a Loewe spokesperson! But it’s not just about the slippers…why pair it with ankle high white sports socks? 😅 Maybe it’s a new young men’s fashion statement and I’m just too behind in such trends. 😆
Nothing…… so I felt the only logical way out here is time… some time needs to past. Maybe not 5 yrs….…
Can’t agree more. At least me and @WindBlows are of the same view…not possible for an immediate reconciliation but 5 years is really too long. 2-3 years is decent but provided the drama shows HBY doing more to redeem himself and showing CSS finding out about such deeds and reacting to them in a positive way.
Anyone knows if the dinners started yet? It’s so quiet . No more news about it. For Korean dramas they’ll be lots of real time photos and videos of the cast arriving at the dinner venue……

I’m sure Director Fei is probably roping the whole cast in on a modern drama in the near future!
