I agree, the drama has a patriotic/uplifting vibe that's common for cdrama but not kdrama. Also, the mostly positive portrayal of the police compared to kdrama police (think corruption in Stranger) make the difference for me. But, props to the drama for still showing the darker side of police interrogation, that chair is horrifying.
