This is a helpful review! You've managed to write a balance view on the story and the characters. I like that you gave updates on some episode turning points, giving us ideas on the story and characters' development, but without giving away too much, i.e., major spoilers. I tried to avoid spoilers but it's hard for this drama, unless I don't read anything at all π.
I'm currently watching this drama. Your review (and some other comments/reviews), along with the story's premise and the main couple's visuals and chemistry (which I can see even in the posters), made me decide to give it a shot π. Thank you!
Have watched up to episode 21. So far, there is good build-up of the story (both the romance and political/military aspects) and character development. I like Shawn Dou and Chen Du Ling's portrayal of Xiao Bei Chen and Lin Hang Jing, respectively. Episodes 19 & 20 are really good, and they are turning points in their relationship and the political events. As much as I was annoyed with Xiao Shu Yi, especially in the first few episodes, what's good about her is she dared to confront Lin Hang Jing in defense of Xiao Bei Chen, and makes LHJ realizes things. Though sometimes she goes overboard because of her bias against LHJ. I'm halfway and I know there are still many ups and downs coming, so let's see.
Hi! Agree with paxxie here. This drama touched on many themes - quest for justice/revenge, longing for a family,…
In relation to my comment above, these are just some of my takeaways: 1) People/things are not always what they seem. 2) Love comes in different forms. It can be romantic, familial, or seen in friendship. 3) Sometimes, it takes a while for justice to be served, but when it comes, it's worth the wait and the hardships. 4) What ZHY says towards the end is a fitting wrap-up, βAny place full of love can be my home.β
I am curious to know what posters think the central message of this drama is.

Am I the only one who thinks the ML looks a bit like soong joong ki? π§
I thought so too! That's one of the first things I noticed at the start. He looks a bit like him in some angles. It could be due to his styling in this drama (hair, get-up, etc).
You might want to check this one out tooβit has about 30 tracks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KKCm1tkAJ8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MIZ4MWGeo8Track…
I absolutely love the OST especially the 3 main songs! Been listening to them repeatedly while driving (sometimes even when not driving). It's my new fave OST π.
