This is what I call a perfect filler series It was nice and light to watch. I love the 12 episode series because they don’t drag it out for the sake of making 16 episodes.
This is a happy, easy watch for when you’ve just finished a heavier darker series and need a reset like I do.
I will admit I am not a fan of over the top torture or gruesome scenes, and this had a lot. I watched because I love JCW. He was amazing as I expected, but some of the gore was too much for me. Yes it is stated, but I wonder where the point of too much ever fits with Korean dramas. They do like their realistic violence.
D.O as the villain was crazy good for this role. Thank god for the terrible haircut so I didn’t seem him as the cute singer I’ve seen him as. Not sure how realistic someone his age would have that much power over so many people.
Even after the first episode I was unsure how an ending would ever feel fair to the main lead. He went through so much and lost even more.
I felt like there wasn’t a proper ending regarding the mother of the bad guy. Did I miss something?
Worth a watch if you can stomach it. I only just did. If it wasn’t for that cast I may have dropped it.
There’s no denying this series is not the same as the first one. I read the reviews about the comedy being over the top.
I had to watch a 40 minute recap of series 1 as it had been awhile since I’d watched it. It reminding me how much I loved the characters. If I hadn’t remembered series one I likely would have dropped this.
So whilst I did still enjoy watching this, mainly due to liking the characters from series one it definitely went overboard on the comedy and sound effects. It’s like someone was on drugs when they wrote or directed this series. Oddly enough the bad guy was extremely evil, but because the comedy kept taking over it was hard to go between the two.
If you’re going to watch it just prepare yourself for the ridiculous comedy aspect. Also I think supernatural should be added to the tags.
I totally loved watching this show. My mum watched it with me so I had to watched it dubbed and subtitles. I prefer to hear Korean voices with subtitles. It was a little off putting knowing that’s not how they sound. I’m a K-drama addict
I feel they start with way too many people and get rid of so many too quickly.
For a reality competition, boy did they drag it out. Episodes could have been half the length.
But the overall show and obvious high budget made it a great watch.
Maybe next time judges at the start shouldn’t be able to judge people they know or have worked with.
Seems I might be in the minority based on these comments but I loved SK won. I was rooting for them from the start. I’m jealous of Amottis wife lol. But I loved the whole team.
I’m Australian and to be honest I wanted Australia gone early. I was embarrassed by their swearing and egos. It did ease up further in the show and Dom especially seemed like a good guy. They shot themselves in the foot by using their 3 strongest men assuming they’d win the rope battle easily. The other teams worked out not to use all their best players.
That’s being said, if Australia didn’t go out when they did, all the following challenges they would have won easily. The castle challenge would have been so easy for them and the final show.
Can someone please put in a spoiler below if it has a happy or sad ending I’m on the first episode and the first scene has me wondering if I will keep watching. I hate sad endings.
i agree they really do perform well and alexandra mental power was really top notch. Many people are hating on…
I am Australian and although the team is slowly warming on me, I didn’t like how they came across at first.
I watch so much Asian content. and I prefer the more reserved and respectful culture.
I can’t stand bogan Australians and I am embarrassed that they swear so much. There were also arrogant in my opinion. But it had lessened and I now can see more of their positive attitude. Especially the parkour guy.
I started binging this then realised just now it’s not completed screening yet. So annoyed at myself. And to be left hanging if Amotti makes it or not.
I will start but saying overall I enjoyed it. I didn’t drop it and I was genuinely smiling during the last episode. Not often am I please with an ending. Usually it feels rushed but I enjoyed this final episode.
The female lead did a great job from looking super poor and then handling the rich situation. I was shocked I could not even see a slight hint she was the same actress from Vincenzo, which I loved. However making her a bodyguard was a bad choice unless you are going to make her super impressive as one. She couldn’t defend herself against a fly. This is not the actresses fault it’s whoever made the character that weak.
The first few episodes were frustrating that they kept changing styles and paces. It would take you out of one serious situation then into a silly small town one then back and forth. That was jarring at first. Thankfully it wasn’t a 16 episode series.
Overall I’m glad I watched it. Not a rewatch series. It was suspenseful in the fact that you didn’t know which characters were on the good side and bad side.
I enjoyed this series. I’m a fan of Park Min Young but I’ll admit the first few episodes I found her a little annoying. So just get past those first few episodes when she’s not in silly girl mode.
I loved the revenges which were approximately 1 per episode. I didn’t really find the major revenge that interesting.
The ending annoyed me in that I hope if there is a season 2 it’s not the same villain.
If you're wondering if he died, no, he didn’t. The gates of the control room was open and it was empty. His…
I was referencing whether he was dead in the desert or just an allusion. When her husband had died she saw him in front of her saying exactly what was in the letter he wrote to her about his son. There he was an illusion.
The ending made it hard to know for sure if the ML was dead and just an illusion or if he actually was there.
I cant remember now but someone pointed out a specific thing in that desert scene that proved he really was there, alive.
I’ve watched too many other series already since to be clearer I’m sorry.
So much time to wait. I prefer to binge watch series. ( I always regret it when I start too early and it’s not finished yet) And it’s so hard to know each week a new episode comes out but I don’t have the patience. So I have to wait till December to start watching 😭😭😭 and I love JCW and DO. I hope it’s good and worth waiting for.
I always wonder how companies look at viewership numbers as it’s being released. They often talk about the weekly number but that’s not really a good reflection as many people prefer to wait to its ended to then watch it all in one go.

But I’m still going for South Korea.

So excited for this one.
