In the korean version, we saw the substitutes for the misfortunes faced by the FL and ML:
1. Death of the ML in a car accident – substituted by his arranged fiancée. 2. Stomach cancer of the FL – substituted by her friend from the office. 3. Death of the FL – substituted by her ex-husband.
In the japanese version, it’s already clear that the illness will have the same substitute as in the korean version. However, it is still uncertain who will take the ML's place in the car accident, since there are only two episodes left and, so far, there are no signs of a new character being introduced. Moreover, the substitute for the FL’s death – which in the jdrama was caused by a fall from the apartment balcony – may be different from the kdrama. The ending could take a different turn, which leaves room for surprises.

I loved Nan Rui’s development, I loved the Nightwalkers, I loved the fight scenes, the cinematography, the costumes, the soundtrack. I’ll miss coming here and seeing the theories, the reflections, and even the debates about the protagonists’ postures. I think the biggest lesson I take from this drama is that we are capable of shaping our own destiny. Goodbye ADWAD ❤️❤️❤️
