Fang is the definition of "Looks like a cinnamon role, could kill you". 😄 I am pleasantly surprised by this series! I like all the couples. Especially PondPhuwin are killing it here. I also realised once again, that I just like dramas directed by New, he does something that just speaks to me.
I feel like I missed something, but what was in the Royal Edict by the Dowager Empress that she sent to the palace…
I think it was to give the Security Bureau the permission to take down the Priestess and to get Yanxi out of the Pavilion he was held in? At least that's how I interpreted it.
I really like ml actors acting!! This man can convey so many feelings with just a look in his eyes, a fluttering of his eyelids, the lowering of his head, the tremble of his hands, a smile on his lips... this is my first time watching drama with him and I'll definitely watch more dramas with him in the future.
This is one of the best period c dramas! It reminded me a lot of New Life Begins, with the empowering female theme, where a group of woman suddenly has to fend for their place in society and finds strength in each other, together they overcome tragedies and hardship with a happy end. I have never seen the main leads in any other drama before, but they nailed their roles here! Count me as a new fan of ZJY and HYT!! I'll try to watch other dramas with them. I hope both of them get casted in any other costume/period dramas. HYT would look good in one of the xianxia dramas! The only thing that frustrated me a bit was episode 38/39, watching the emperor being even more of an ass than in earlier episodes made me so angry! But the ending made up for those 2 episodes. I loved how the main leads constantly hugged, it was so soothing and romantic. Finally a drama where there are lots of hugs! I can't even remember if they had a kiss scene and I don't care, because them hugging all the time was so good. If you loved New Life Begins, give this a try you won't be disappointed, same the other way around, if you liked this and haven't seen New Life Begins please give it a try!
I'm so sad about Grandma 😭 poor Grandma had to be left behind by the love of her life and died after being separated from him! Poor Grandpa too, they couldn't see each other again in this life. They should make a drama bout them and the empress dowager. 😭
Last few weeks I have been catching up with Zhou Yes dramas, also watching Story of Kunning Palace, where I found the ML, becoming an instant fan of him. So I was very happy to find out they have a drama together. It's not a bad drama, but sadly this drama wasn't what I imagined/hoped it to be... Maybe there were too many good looking male leads, all I wanted the fl to end up with... I guess reverse Harem is not my thing in regards to 2nd lead syndrome? But I definitely found some more actors to follow up with, that's one of the good things I take from watching this drama. I was also expecting a romance focused drama, but it's more slice of life? In the end I couldn't connect with it and just fast forwarded through the episodes, even skipping some episodes as a whole. My favourite episodes were 25 and 26. I'm just into the jealousy trope lol. All in all the actors were so good, the production too, so I'm sure someone who is looking for a drama that focuses more on scheming and planning and only a bit on romance this will be for them.
This is sooo good! Zhang LingHe is perfect for the role of Xie Wei. I like it how he was so morally grey, scheming and when he was jealous. ZLH is so talented and the long hair in period dramas looks awesome on him. Bai Lu too, talented and always looking gorgeous in the period dresses and hair dos. This easily became one of my favourite cdramas. The plot is engaging with a great production value and interesting side characters. I would have loved it if the main couple would have gotten together earlier, with a bit less concentration on 2nd and 3rd ml as love interests, but it also made sense how it all lead to them being together. I normally find endless scheming inside the palace tiresome, and the empress and her niece got too much airtime, but the scheming of our main leads was executed well and did not become boring.
omg! did you guys see the trailer for season 2??? That was totally unexpected for me! And what is going on? Did Way make them hallucinate his and Tonys death? Are they just pretending? 🤯
This is good, I like it. But it gave the vibe of a Jane Austen Novel adaptation. Everyone was so gentlemanly and about etiquette, that if they even came as close as 50 cm they would turn into blushing victorian virgins. Don't get me wrong, I like this and I like Jane Austen novels, but sometimes the whole innocent attitude was a bit much for a drama of this era? If I had to describe it with 4 words I would say: innocent, pure, prim and proper. At the same time, once the main leads overcame their shyness they had pretty good kiss scenes, which amazed me given what I described above. The plot itself was interesting, the dubbing dramas and the music, it all was great. FLs wardrobe fit right into the image she was portraying and all her clothrs were very pretty. What was also amazing was the MLs many talents. He was a doctor, a chef, a dubber, a singer, a stage manager, an editor, an entrepreneur, an artist (drawing)... how many hours had his day? How did he manage? lol I wish they gave the 2nd couple more screentime, I liked them a lot.
Nice mature drama with a typical office romance/enemies to lovers setting. I liked how it perfectly showed the struggle between a traditional craft and new tech trying to find it's place and in the end taking over. What I didn't like was how FL got screwed over by everyone in the last few episodes, even by the ML, and she just sucked it up. Not sure how it should have went differently though, just that I would have quit the company at the spot, they dropped her so fast like a hot potato, when she spent years giving it her all for them. So ungrateful to "their best employee". ML should have apologised a bit more too, but overall I was glad they reconciled quickly. I am also sad we didn't see their wedding. Shasha from 2nd couple was annoying most of the time. She was immature and a spoiled brat. I hated how she blamed Tian for making her change, when he never asked for it and she never told him about her allergies or anything else that impacted their relationship. You are to blame for not communicating your issues, Princess, not him. 3rd couple was cute. I didn't like Chen Yao at first, but he had great character growth once he fell in love with Tong Xin.
If cringe had a face, it would be Toh 😂 I just watched him get 'drunk' of a shitake?
Yay, you've made it! And even though the cringe didn't get less, you've also survived it. 😁😁 I like Billy too, if it wasn't for him, I couldn't have watched any of Toh's scenes 😅 I didn't know this has the same Director as Middlemans love, but it explains a lot 😅 I didn't see Playboyy, but I heard a lot lol, I guess this is just another sign not to watch it?
I never gave up trying Mames shows, because I always had the hope I find a gem somewhere, and I found it today. This series is good! I like it a lot. The plot is interesting and I can't complain about the main leads acting. I liked Neua very much. What I found strange was that Pai and Sky said their wedding vows in english... didn't fit them at all and the english subs didn't even say the same. But it was nice to see their happy end.
You can watch it without watching anything else beforehand, since Fuse and Ana have their own story and you don't need to know anything about the other couples to understand it. But if you want to know more about the side couples, like Gun and Bar and also Vee and Mark that they mention a lot in the first few episodes, and have some backstory to how the friendship group of the engineers came together you can watch the En of Love (EoL) series, which contains 3 seasons of miniseries (3-4 episodes each): 1. EoL: Tossara (Gun/Bar), 2. EoL: Love Mechanics (Vee/Mark), 3. EoL: This is love Story (North/Param). They are all available on Youtube. Love Mechanics also got its own, longer series, as a result of its popularity. Fuse and Ana have a short moment there, but it's got nothing to do with this series, so you don't have to watch it beforehand.
Pros: 1. Main leads got rid of their braces after Love Mechanics, they looked like grown ups thanks to that 2. Them name-dropping Vee and Mark was so funny, they are my favourite couple, so I liked that 3. Kamphan, I feel like he was the only one who could act, they should give him a happy end too. Cons: Everything else; acting wasn't that great, the plot was a mess and seriously lacking, nothing was fleshed out or explained. I was thinking about dropping it after ep 1, but then I let the rest of it run in the background while playing candy crush lol.
I am pleasantly surprised by this series! I like all the couples. Especially PondPhuwin are killing it here. I also realised once again, that I just like dramas directed by New, he does something that just speaks to me.
