I see this more as a "keep repeating something that worked once" rather than it reflecting the "real" values of a country.. lately there are more kdramas with strong women, but they still play it safe and keep doing the old cliches...
but seeing the actors, they could've made a great "mature" romcom...
and my definition of "mature" is as I mentioned, something like what's wrong with secretary kim and the beauty inside, just 2 characters that feel like adults...
everything about this drama is trying too hard... it's way over comedic, and they use so much sound effects... the male lead's 1d cold persona is soo boring...
ironically, I liked the other side characters, usually I find them a waste of screentime, but here I found them interesting, though two of the other female characters seem like "airheads" as well..
I didn't stick with goblin for too long to see the 2nd couple get together, so I started this only with a hope of getting something like WWWSK or TBI's "mature" romance... now I can only hope for the female lead to "grow up", but I guess overall it's better than Romance is a Bonus Book, atleast they are not trying too hard to kick the female lead down and make the guy save her, though I do prefer the male lead there...
the only good things were the rap and Park Jung Min's intense eyes when he rapped...
+++ Mi Yeong's mom
+ Mi Yeong's mom and gun relationship
+ gun
- cold gun
+ sls
- stringing the poor sls along
- so many misunderstandings
- a huge lack of communication
- 2nd female lead and her obsession
- too many characters
- no character growth, just physical change
----- too many side stories
+ the cute secretary
Yum Jung Ah, but they said no, that was never intended xD
that'd have been high level makjang, yikes xD
it's a really short adorable light and fluffy drama~~
I'm actually happy though, after seeing their happy together special and hearing their views over what the ending could be like, I preferred the actual ending xD
I still think this drama is using the typical cliches to make the female lead suffer, but it's not as bad as I thought, though I see the main couple as a simple noona/dongsaeng ;)
best children: Cha Se Ri, Cha Seo Joon and Cha Ki Joon
best parents: Lee Soo Im and Hwang Chi Young
best growth: Kang Joon Sang and Cha Min Hyuk
SRS (Supporting Role Syndrome): Teacher Jo!!!
best "smart" character: Jin Jin Hee (she caught on to everything pretty fast)
best "fresh" character: Han Seo Jin
best "calm" character: No Seung Hye
best "sweet" character: Lee Soo Im
best "psychopath": Kim Joo Young
all of that "leaked" script and the start of happy together ep, they made it seem like there will be a big reversal, but...
hmmm, maybe the lack of reversal is the reversal itself? I mean, this started off as such a dark twisted drama, but the last ep was so hopeful, this really had great character growth for all of them, I think that's the most beautiful part...
