Curious where y'all will watch this when it airs. Viki has a big chance of picking this up as they always pick up C-dramas except those from iQIYI. If it comes on Netflix, that'll be crazy good too. Where do you think it might air tho? I may stick with Viki with its high quality subs. I'm the type to screen record during airing dramas so best bet for me too. I'd love it if iQIYI picks this up bc the subs are actually pretty good. And the 4k quality? Oh boy... Now that's where I would watch if it came there... but chances aren't high huhu... So I rmr a scene where he was thinking about his crippled hand and how he was miserable trying to use it. So in that flashback, he faked it there, all bc he's always being watched at every moment? And it confuses me even more bc of the flashback of when he and his brother (I believe) were kids and he was pushed and hit his hand on a rock or smth. So he was able to heal from that injury?

Question. Su Muyang said he always faked his right hand being injured or whatever. But that doesn't seem to be true? In some earlier eps there were scenes where he was struggling to use it. So I'm not understanding this. I surely missed smth?

I guess the subs make it a better watch? It's unfortunate bc it's not on Viki anymore, at least for me. So I will defeinitely watch it ob iQIYI, the next best option. I hope I can still enjoy it as much there! I don't think much about the subs being bad at all (bc it prob isn't; asked a Chinese person about it once and she mentioned the subs are good but the way they sub how they call someone by title, name, etc. can unfortunately happen often, which I def am aware of haha, so it doesn't affect too much. But yeah, comparing Viki and iQIYI occassionally, I can see that Viki will always have the best subs in general, even if iQIYI isn't that bad.

Haha best to not expect much from her then! I hadn't watched her much b4 so I don't have much thoughts about her acting in general. And ooh, nice. Isn't The Fated General currently in the dungeon for like 7+ years or so? It's a drama I'm also anticipating! Hope it comes one day...

It's interesting to see how ppl can differ widely in how they view dramas. I'm ngl, even my father seems to have very different taste from me when it comes to C-dramas; he didn't like ADWAD and he enjoyed LOTFG (he may have more similar taste to you actually now that I think about it) 🫢 So I get it. You're right too that these dramas are long, so it's best to watch what we enjoy!

I just wanted to share this, and I respect our differing opinions about both dramas, tho I don't totally agree with forming an opinion after one ep esp as the drama's tone shifts and new hidden things reveal (I'd even say this is Liu Yuning's best role as he shows more emotions in it, wkth his character also actually relatong to the actor himself a lot in the way that everyone is like his hater sadly) but you are you and you do what makes you happy 😊 I'm sure what I say won't change your mind anyway 😆

Lmaoo the way you mentioned it is funny 🤣 It's even funnier how you brought up ADWAD bc ironically that drama itself actually plays out this kind of scene where the FL tells the ML they won't die if they fall off the cliff, but he refuses bc he is sure they will, but with all the bad guys coming at them, she decides at that moment they gotta jump to get away from them, and I found it hilarious LOL. As always, no one will die after falling off a cliff... Anyways, as she mentioned, "Plot armor" (I mean, it really is) 🤣

Hahaha yeah I'm actually not much of a romance person but I really loved these two and their chemistry a lot. And I agree there is no romance which is nice and refreshing. I wonder how they will write it if NGW remains as his love interest in a future season. I hope they do it well... Also, are you saying it's confirmed this will have three seasons? If so, wow... I am most certainly looking forward to them! It'll be interesting to see Han Li on a new adventure.

If you like more romance and like cases where they do the solving for you but are still pretty interesting (well, depending on your taste) where they instead show the process of it rather than trying to solve it yourself, go for this. Note that the cases don't connect seamlessly to the next.

If you don't care for romance and want to become a detective alongside the characters, with lots of twists and turns, and which you are able to connect deeper with the gang as they each have a backstory but also their own strengths which knits the group tightly together, then go with The Wanted Detective. I watched both and preferred TWD much more~ I'd say that one's much more a detective and investigation drama :)

Coroner's Diary is still good but I'm not sure I'd call it a detective drama much.

I rewatched it back in like December last year so I can't wait to watch it again and pick up on more details that I've missed!!
