Ikr...Nightwalkers are the best part of the drama. I know people talk about romantic chemistry more but I believe…
I'm not much of a person who focuses on romance the most in a drama even when I love it and tend to appreciate and enjoy the relationships and friendships btw characters in them a lot more, so being able to see it here brings me a lot of joy! They are def the scenes I enjoy the most!
You're so right about the bromance! It's so good! Favorite pairs are prob Nan Heng and Shangguan He, and Duan Shanhu and Po Yunlong. Ngl, they are even shippable (but even more the second who don't have any lover) ๐ญ Nan Heng and Fugui are also such a fun duo ๐
Gosh I loooove the Waning River Crescent gang so much! The Shangguan He, Duan Shanhu, and Po Yunlong trio is everything! I also love how loyal they are to Nan Heng. Indeed, Liu Yuning with his sidekicks. A charm of his dramas, truly. We better get their happy ending here ๐ฅบ
Also is it just me who wants Jixiang to like actually join the gang? I can imagine how fun it would be for him! Just like Po Yunlong, he has a serious personality but is also unserious at the same time... so they'd make a great duo ๐ And sorry to say again but man Po Yunlong is kinda Lan Zhan coded but an unserious version of him ๐
This has more bromance than most Cdramas and if you ask me, it is more of a (b)romance and it is quite obviouse.
In this drama it will feel like the characters are mostly bi lol it's actually fun instead for the most part! I get you tho with the annoying FL. Personally, I was annoyed when I first watched this, but the second time I watched it, not as much anymore. The FL here may not be strong physically, but she's a pretty mature one and I quite liked her more when I rewatched. There are some moments where she annoyed me, but it makes sense in some way or another. Anyways, I am also the type to not like a love triangle when there's a strong bromance between the male leads lol. This also rarely happens when I watch other dramas, so this one gave me that strong feeling, but more when I first watched it! But now I don't mind it as much bc I tried to think about this drama more deeply and with a different mindset. Also, you can have even more fun by shipping the FL with the SFL! You will truly be wondering who is really together atp LOL.
To me it feels like Li Lun might actually be Yuanzhou's first love. You'll know what I mean when you see Yuanzhou and Li Lun's relationship more. Wen Xiao also becomes his love. And in the end, Yichen becomes his last love. But all those loves are specially different and a special part of his journey, with Yichen, which I personally felt, being his final destination? To me, there's nothing wrong with having different people you love at different timse, and those loves can be in a different way. For Li Lun, it didn't end well with him bc of their misunderstandings and opposing / differing opinions on big matters, miscommunication, distrust, etc., so it shows the side of love that wasn't actually meant to be. For Wen Xiao, I'd say their relationship is like a mature one where they respect, love, and care for each other; it shows that even if they aren't meant to last forever (maybe due to them being different (one demon, one human) or other reasons, it's still a special relationship that lasted as it did. And finally with Yichen, it's a more passionate and deep relationship, where both are opposites each other so they attract, and go through a lot together where they form a strong and special bond as they go from enemies to soulmates (or lovers if you like).
BUT WAIT... Call me delulu but if you want to think of Yuanzhou and Yichen as each other's first love due to their "past" then you can too, at least as a representation of them like they are their reincarnations. I lowkey like to think of it like that bc it sometimes felt like what they were showing us were the story of them across a different life, where the past paralleled with them in this life, even if the drama might try to point it towards a different direction due to censorship, as this kind of thing occurs between lovers in other dramas haha
(Sorry, that was long, but if you read to the end, hope you enjoyed :D And enjoy watching the drama! I hope you come to love the bromance between the two male leads!
This has more bromance than most Cdramas and if you ask me, it is more of a (b)romance and it is quite obviouse.
Honestly I think it does have a bit more... for example, they held hands a few times throughout the drama when they are going thru difficult times. There was one time early in where Yuanzhou did it to Yichen and it felt romantic lmao... and another time where it looked like Yuanzhou wanted Yichen to hold his hand lol... Anyways, I still can't believe how much bromance is in this esp in the second half! So beautiful!
Sorry this is kind of an insane question but Iโm trying to decide if I should watch this or not: how would you…
For me it surely is. I couldn't help but ship the two MLs... the bromance is indeed very strong that it's easy to ship them, and surprisingly stronger than most other dramas with bromance. Maybe even the queerest C-drama after a long time. Ngl, you can even ship the FLs together! Anyways, the bromance becomes even stronger in the second half of the drama. They are literally enemies but them became super close and grow to love each other, esp with the SML to the ML who he once hated. It's a really beautiful bromance imo. I feel that the drama had a huge focus on their relationship, it's almost like the main story. That's how I felt watching it! You will love their dynamic, from teasing, flirting, and bickering, to a more closely connected, deep, heartfelt, and loving relationship. From what I got in the drama, the ML fell first but the SML fell harder. The special ep shows how much their relationship has grown from hate to love! I also like the think the "past" of them where their relationship parallels with them to kind of be a representation of them like they are their reincarnation in some way. You'll know what I mean when they show some scenes of the two of them (same actors) from the past.
I need FoF prequel where xiao Zhuyan life in wilderness and Demonโs world ๐ญSend love to every Demons who…
Yes that would be sm fun! We'd also get to see a loy more of Zhuyan and Li Lun, their close relationship, but then what caused them to have a feud together, which would be super interesting! I'd also love to see more of Yichen before they met as we know they were like enemies b4! And then a little bit of him meeting Wen Xiao's master and herself. Then somewhere there would end it to continue to this drama!
Haven't watched TPOB yet but I know Wang Chengsi is one of Liu Yuning's generals there and dang I find it so cool that he's his attendant in this one too? Like that's really cool!
Was FSMRMP worth a watch? I generally haven't been able to get into this franchise
For me it was worth it but I know lots of others didn't like it which is prob alr known... You might like it more if you watch the prequel first. I see others watching it after Love in Pavilion and it seems there's more ppl liking it when I read the comments. Idk, I don't exactly get why it gets so much hate as if it's the worst drama, but I don't really agree it is lol. But yk, you could be like everyone else. You could try giving it a shot. If you like romance, it would be a great watch. If you don't mind SE / OE, try it. I do have complaints ofc, but it was still enjoyable for me. But I've got good tolerance for dramas so you could be different. Maybe try Love in Pavilion first. You might end up liking the sequel more as the ML in RMP is the son of the FL's sister in LiP :) (Sorry, that was long)
By far I think my favorite arc might be Qinglian's. His story made me cry. He didn't deserve to be imprisoned for many years... esp learning it's by his parents, I can't imagine how heartbreaking that is. I was so in awe for what his mother did to protect her child, beginning to think less for the status quo. What she did to him is smth that can't be forgotten, but I'm happy she stepped forward in this. It was so beautiful. The way Zhou Zheng also confessed for his crimes for her was really amazing to see. I am so happy to see Qinglian get justice in the end! It's what he deserved! And wow, at first I thought Qingchuan was his older sister and not cousin, but she really does feel like one to him with how they talk to each other. Loved watching these two. I wished we got more Qinglian screentime lowkey huhu
I am really enjoying this much more than I expected. I watched the FL in FSMRMP and dang she gives off a different vibe and slays so hard here! Watched the ML in The Starry Love and it's refreshing to see him again!
I'm near the end, not quite there yet! But I still can't believe I'm watching The Double's FL's husband who plays the main villain Xiao Jingshan here! This is lit! He's really nailing it!
This is not enough to appease me for what happened in the last 10 minutes of the drama. Like wth were they thinking killing off Duke Su's two subordinates? They could have made it happy just like the novel? I hate the writers for this. It was so random and not needed... So honestly, I personally want to forget that and think of the novel ending as the true ending instead... ๐ซ
This man always plays the SML (I've watched Love of the Divine Tree, The Double, and now Feud) and it gets a bit tiring... Can't wait to see him in other roles where he doesn't play a character like that, "Gu Le Feng Hua Lu" with Li Yitong the most!
When does this plot point show up? I'm not sure I like the sound of this.
Ahhh no that's actually not the main story. The main story is basically the title. It's like the friend group go on an adventure and try to find the relics of ill omen, come to learn their origin, try to stop whatever bad thing happens, make discoveries on their way, etc. I don't think this will be a main focus. I hope not lol. I also did learn that (most likely if it stays that way) that the real Mu Dai does come back anyways which tbh I think is important. I'm not sure how this will go tho all the way thru since I'm starting this arc only now.
